1997xltlimited
Checked my cuddeback expert today, and it had water inside the cam. There was water built up underneath the lenses. the board is now has corrosion on it. It was mounted how cuddeback reccomends. Will be calling them Monday morning
slughunter
Re: Cuddeback Leaks that sucks, never had a camera leak, but for some reason I get a lot of earwigs behind the latches on my leaf river, its kinda gross. -shane

1997xltlimited
Re: Cuddeback Leaks i have seen that posting before, it would probably help, but for that much money spent on a cam it shouldnt leak. It has to be sent back now because of the damage done to the board with the corrosion, it doesnt work right anymore??????????
wtnhunt
Re: Cuddeback Leaks Figured that was an issue when Ken had ants getting in his. Hope you can get it fixed and dont have any damage to the unit. Did have problems with our stealth cam back, after it broke, and it got water in it. 1997xltlimited
Re: Cuddeback Leaks finally got it all dry and turned it on, and in test mode it blinks every 5 seconds. I installed new batteries and it did the same thing? Will be calling for sure on Monday to see what they say
wtnhunt
Re: Cuddeback Leaks Think if if i were you, and cudde does not warranty it I would be asking for a refund and getting a leaf river to take its place.
Swamphunter
Re: Cuddeback Leaks Fix?? Fix nothing...I would tell them being a brand new cam, they can keep this one. I am a fan of Cuddeback also, but the need to throw the word "recall" out there and stand behind the product they have "Cuddeback" on. Swamphunter
Re: Cuddeback Leaks I personally love my Cuddeback. I just would not accept the "fix it yourself with silicone and its good enough" excuse. If it is a factory defect, I would demand it be replaced. Not repaired with some temporary solution as simple as using silicone. Thats all. They stand behind the products they sell, I would call them. 1997xltlimited
Re: Cuddeback Leaks I really like it as well, but if i send it back, whos not to say that when they fix it or give me a new one that the new unit will not leak as well????? I dont want to get another one that leaks what would everybody do in this situation. It has to get fixed or returned, because it doesnt work. It doesn't work now you said, so why wouldn't you just return it and have it repaired under warranty? You call them, they answer very quickly (speak good english also ), they give you a service number and tell you how to package and ship it back. I was told when I called they have a 2 day turn around with the camera.

[/ QUOTE ] Personally from what I have seen and read, I would ask for a refund and get the new leaf river 6.3 mp unit. Ants or moisture getting in and not being covered under the warranty in my opinion are very poor reflection on their customer service and technical dept, even if the people you talk to are speaking english. Sorry Ken, but having to pay for the repairs to be made to your camera as you said for them to fix it due to their negligence or poor workmanship is just a turn off to a company for me. 1997xltlimited
Re: Cuddeback Leaks i am leaning towards getting a 2005 model or the new leaf river. I called them and they told me to send it in. Then i asked if it was a common problem. they said nope not at all???????????? From what I have been reading seems like a major problem. Does anybody know what the 6.3 leaf rivers reaction time is?

[/ QUOTE ] I agree William and will definitely consider thsi when purchasing my next game cam. I do like the customer service, but the policy sucks. I may call them back again though... I can fix this problem with a little rubber O-ring, off of one of my old mechanical broadheads. Other than the $50, it is not a big deal. 1997xltlimited
Re: Cuddeback Leaks I still find it hard to believe that they are making you pay the $50!! But the cusomer service does seem to be good.
wtnhunt
Re: Cuddeback Leaks Ken, again I have to reiterate hear that leaf river has their customer service folks in Mississippi if I remember right. Not trying to sway someone away from cudde to leaf river, just maybe trying to enlighten anyone who may be in the process of buying a new cam. Some of you northern guys or Canadians might have a bit of trouble understanding the good old southern boys dialects, but nothing like talking with an indian or arab. Still I am surprised that cudde is not addressing this problem by making these cams right free of charge since there is obviously a problem and they are at fault.
