Re: Harness or NO harness???

For the life of me, I can not understand why in 2006, people would not wear a harness. Especially with all the new designs that are very user friendly and comfortable to wear. To me it is like not wearing a seat belt while driving.

OK, go back and read my thread from last fall. My own personal testiment to using a harness. Scary stuff.

I use a harness with my climber. Never use one in my 12 ft ladder stands.

Same here I like them in lock-ons and climbers especially if their in a hard to get to honey-hole. But my ladders are pretty safe and I usualy don't use one there but the more I think about it the more I will probably start using one.

Re: Harness or NO harness???

My girlfriend has been saying recently that I should have something instead of a waist belt and tether... you're a safety director and all... All your warehouse guys wear full body harnesses, why don't you she said? I started to question myself. I only use a waist belt and lifeline climbing with a prussic... Well my sweetie bought me the loggy bayou transformer system for our two years so I'm excitedly waiting for it! I've always worn the belt, but never spent the money on something that was actually going to save my life -- not just keep me from hitting the ground.

never worn one and probably won't for a couple years

I broke my back falling out of a ladder stand last year. It was just one of those freak things that happen. I have to take pain medicine constantly just to function and a year later I'm hitting about 60%.

You can't controll everything all the time. Things go wrong every day sometimes they are inconvienient, sometimes they change your whole life.

Please for your own safety get one and wear it.
