Reflex vs. Hoyt

Ok, I've noticed in my researching of a new bow, that Hoyt and Reflex bows sure are similar at least appearance wise. Does anyone know how these bows shoot compared to each other? Are they being manufactured by the same company or are they just copying each other? I'm just wondering because I'm leaning towards a hoyt or Reflex bow and the Reflex Excursion I think will be cheaper than the Hoyt Selena or Rintec XL. Thanks! wink.gif

i shoot an excursion. got it 3 seasons ago and love it .not the fastest bow out there . when your on a budget raising kids you dont have alt of$ to spend on toys. i shoot a total arrow wt. of 386gr at 64lbs and 28in draw. i get 273 fps and 55 lbs k.e. and thats fastest enough for me. i walked out the door set up with nothing fancy.rest sites and d-loop for$407.00 good luck bow shoping but shoot then first if you can

Re: Reflex vs. Hoyt

I have a Reflex Buckskin, love it, Reflex makes a very high quality bow, Hoyt would not make that line if they were junk, it would reflect back on Hoyt, awesome bows and the whole Hoyt family would take care of you if you had problems, Hoyt, Reflex, Easton, Fuse.....

You won't be disappointed in a Reflex!!

Its just like Chevorlet(reflex) and GMC(hoyt) not really much difference at all exept price tag and name.

Currently Chevy would be Hoyt and GMC would be Reflex because the models Reflex makes are bows that Hoyt no longer makes. Currently GMC's are relabeled Chevys

Re: Reflex vs. Hoyt

I shoot a Reflex Excursion and I love it! I just started bowhunting last year and adore the looks and feel of a Hoyt but did not want to spend that much money on a first bow (in case it was not something I wanted to continue). I did not get a deer last year but did get two pigs with it and am optimistic about this year. With the rest, sight, quiver, etc., I walked out the door for about $400.00 and intend to use it for several years.

I think for the average hunter, the reflex will serve you just as well as a Hoyt. In fact I think you would be better off getting a reflex and spending the extra cash on top of the line accessories...arrows, broadheads, release, sights, rests, limbsavers, etc... That stuff adds up fast. BUt you could have a pretty darn tricked out reflex with the money you save.

But if you have a $1000 to spend on your setup, the Hoyts are pretty dang nice grin.gif

One of the greatest bowhunters of all time, Chuck Adams, uses reflex bows. He has arrowed more trophys than I can begin to dream of.

The man speaks the truth, hate to see people save up for the bow but then have to skimp on the accessories for it. I guess I am just cheap because I can't see spending $700 or more for a bow, I can do it but just can't bring myself too.

Here is my Reflex, I loaded it up with Fuse accessories which are pricey but nice, then again the bow was half of that of the higher end ones. Still shoots fast, quiet, and suits my needs! grin.gif

Re: Reflex vs. Hoyt

I believe Hoyt's have a little different material used in the limbs and handle, the top hoyts also have a higher IBO, and a much better grip (if you like a small grip) IMO.

Chuck Adams uses Reflex because they make a finger shooting bow especially for him.
