tedicast
Re: First try with the new Encore today trekkker... I have the crud ring problem in my encore too with 777. I have had best luck using a windex saturated patch. When you get to the crud ring, work at the ring, don't just blow past it in one shot. I have had the jag, and patch get stuck in the ring, and has to take the breechplug out. My routine is to use one very wet windex patch, and 2 dry patches between shots....works for me. str8shooter48
Re: First try with the new Encore today Try American Pioneer Powder. Had the problem with the 777 crud ring last year. Went to APP works nice I've shot up to 15 times without swabbing and no real effect on accuracy. The load I'm shooting right now is a Precision 235gr. QT40 sabot over 120grs. of APP. Shoots pretty good 1/2 " groups @ 50 yrds off a sandbag rest. Haven't shot it at 100yrd, most of my shots are within 75 yrds. I tried the 250 gr. Shockwaves same problems a real pain in the a$$ to get started but once in an inch or two they go down pretty easy. I don't like hassles. APP takes care of the crud ring problem. The QT40's eliminate the the loading problems. Good Luck
