My wife's second deer mount ....

Hey everyone,

I thought I'd share a few photos of a whitetail Alicia just finished. This is only her second buck she's ever mounted - basically she got a couple McKenzie videos and went from there. She went with a custom look and made the lower lip slightly open. What do you think?

Re: My wife\'s second deer mount ....

Dont take this wrong as I can find something that need improving with every mount I personally do, it's just to help. For starters this being her 2nd mount it looks really, really good. Ive seen full time "professionals" whos commercial works don't look as good. However, there are areas she needs work as could be expected with newbies.

It's kinda hard to tell from the photos but a couple things that stand out are: Earbutts need a little more clay and detail as they look a bit small. Eye shape is a tad off and the finish work appears a little dark. Same thing with the nose and interior nasal detail. The hair patterns where the muzzle and lower jaw meet is off. All in all she did really good and the problems I can see can easily be corrected with practice and study of some good 3d reference and photos. Tell her to keep up the good work!
