Guest Xen
i know the title of the post pretty much falls into the common sense category, but just wanted to toss it out as a friendly reminder had a friend of mine call me this weekend - told me he shot up a box of ammo through is new .243 WSSM with factory bore sighted scope and said he was all over the place. my first reply was "well, did you check the scope mounts and make sure they are tight?" long story short - the scope base mounts were not tight at all. i was a little disappointed in the fact that any company would release a gun in that condition - kind of defeats the whole factory bore sighting thing
OJR
Re: be sure to check your scope mounts I have seen that happen on several rifles over the years! It is one of the first things I check before I start to shoot every year!
AJ
Re: be sure to check your scope mounts Yep, great tip. On a new gun, I always go over the gun butt to muzzle and check everything before firing a shot. It has been very valuable on a couple of occasions. Other times all it does is get you more intimate with your gun.
