Guest nwmobuckfan
Has anyone planted any of the new Biologic HotSpot? I have been thinking about planting some on a couple of little clearings I have close to some stands. I also have a little hidden bowl back in security cover that I thought about. I see BPS has it cheap for the Hunting Classic and was going to give it a try.

Guest always_ruttin
Re: Biologic HotSpot I planted some around May. It sucked, had very little growth. You need good loose soil and the only way to get good loose soil is to work the ground which defeated the purpose of having it in a remote location. I will never buy it again. I just went back with a hand tiller and worked the ground and then planted a big old sack of clover. Had a really good stand with it. Bownarow
Re: Biologic HotSpot You are supposed to plant it in early fall or late-late summer (maybe the reason for ruttin's results). I bought a bag from BassPro for $8.88 and am waiting to put it out. It will need about half a day of sun and should not require the ground to be worked up. Clear away any leaves and such, rough up the bare ground surface a bit and just shake it on. Ideally spread this stuff right before a rain, and let er eat! Guest generallee
Re: Biologic HotSpot hot spot was the only thing that came up on my property last year......its a fall planting, so it wont do nearly as well in spring and summer. even without hardly any rain last fall in GA it grew real well. wtnhunt
Re: Biologic HotSpot Never tried it, but working on a few mini plots now that will be getting a winter mix from hamann farms which has brassicas, rape, sugar beets, and purple top turnips. Going to be posting some pics of one of those plots down in the woods here in a few minutes.
