257bob
A guy told me today he paid $2700 for a muzzleloader. It is supposed to be guaranteed to shoot tight groups out to 400 yards. It uses a 45 magnum pistol case and pistol primer. Anybody ever heard of this? I think he was filling me full of it. Oh yeah it shoots same velocities as a30-06. AJ you heard of such a muzzleloader. He couldn't tell me the brand. If I spent $2700 on any gun you better believe I would know what brand it was.

AJ
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader Yep, it sounds like an Ultimate or one of Bill Ball's custom smokeless MLs.
SaskMan
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader You do not need to spend $2700 on a smokepole that'll get the job done.
257bob
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard of those yet. I am going to have to see if I can get out to the range with him and check it out in person.
hunterfisherman
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader I would never pay that much, or should I say never could pay that much. You can get a top of the line with a great scope for a lot less and it will be deadly at 250 yards. I guess if you have the money to spend then go for it
str8shooter48
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader I could swing the $2700. but why? In the real world where I hunt my Encore fits the bill very well. With $2100 to spare. So far the longest kill I had has been 40yrds. I can find better things to spend money than a $2700 Muzzleloader
Guest gt2003
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader Dang! I see all the new muzzleloaders and while they are very nice, I can't talk myself into giving up my Knight wolverine with #11 percussion cap and Simmons aetec scope. Total price some where around 350 bucks. For my needs, thats all it takes. All shots I have are withing 75 yds at the very most so I've got the gun to fit my needs. Hope he likes his. Guest dmitchell28
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader HOLY MOLY JUMPING JUNIPER BATMAN..lol that is rediculous.....str8shooter48 has it right, i would just buy a encore be happy, and use the rest of the money on something a little bit more logical. Like the mount..lol or a Rifle , or heck a down payment on a truck or Rhino. So so much
hangunnr
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader Ya know $1600-$2800 for a custom rifle isn't all that bad. I know of quite a few people that have way more than that into a centerfire rifle. Why should it be any different for the ML guys. You can kill any deer out there with a box stock Rem 700 but that dosen't stop guys from dumping thousands into them. I like the looks of that 40X. Would I spend that much.....doubt it, but there are apparently some that would. hangunnr
too_pointer
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader I guess I agree with most in here, that my Encore probably shoots better than I do ! It would be the same with a custom rifle. Many people feel the need for an $$$ gun. It would be fun to own one though. too_
ThethirdI
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader If I spent that much money for a muzzleloader it would have to load itself too. Oh Wait! they do make one...it's called a called a centerfire rifle.
magnatecsteve
Re: $2700 Muzzleloader I have one ML that would cost about $1,500 to $1,800..and one that would top $2,000, but I got them for free..my Dad builds flintlock longrifles...
