Guest wsb
Where will you be hunting opening morning of bow season? I'm going to be up a tree about 20 yds away from a loaded persimmon tree, can't wait!

ODH
Re: Opening morning? On opening morning I'll be hanging 15 feet over a Muzzy broadhead. Hunting here in Ohio. There's a corn field off to my left, deep woods infront of me, behind me, and off to my right. I'm on a slight hill over looking a creek bottom with tons of sign. Or I could be in one of my other stands, just depends on the weather and the wind direction
Tom2008
Re: Opening morning? [ QUOTE ] hey tom do you hunt all over or just in mn [/ QUOTE ] Just in MN for now. Next year I will probably go with my Grandpa to Montana for Whitetail or Mule Deer and maybe even Pronghorn. He takes a week trip there every year. I think Ill be setup near water source the first week or 2...... found pond that has water in it.... lots of tracks and what not...... seen alot of old rubs and stuff..... not to many people hunt in that area...... and I set out a salt block about 35 or 40 yds out in the woods from the pond....... the rest of the woods are an pretty open hardwood bottem........ Across the street from my house, about 25 ft up in a white oak between a corn field, and a small creek....There's a big 6, or small 8 running around over there, and where I got the biggest doe of my life last year. Come on Sep. 15th!

Tominator
Re: Opening morning? I'm hoping I'll be OK to hunt by then, probably skip the morning hunt, but might be able to hunt the afternoon. That's my goal anyway, we'll see. hunterfisherman
Re: Opening morning? 20 feet up at tree over looking the only water on this 600 acres. Should still be warm and there are major cross ways on three sides of this one acre pond. It kind of sits on a saddle of sorts. Saw several deer there during spring turkey season
JKAPP01
Re: Opening morning? well it really depends on how hot it is! early season i am going to try and hunt over some oats. which i have never hunted over before.......a little birdie told me that oats are a good early season food source......the oat field is a good 80 acres conencted to an alfalfa field that is even bigger......and both are connected to ooooodles and ooooooodles of woods.......i am either setting up on the edge of the field or going deep in the woods trying to get the big boy i have scouted that will make 160s this year........... hoytguy08
Re: Opening morning? depending on the wind (usually NW or SW in this part of Illinois) i'll either be on a ridge between CRP and a bean field with oak flats on both ends of th ridge, or along a creek bottom between a bedding area and clover field, i might just wait to hunt till the afternoon but i don't kno if i can wait that long

Tetro
Re: Opening morning? I'll probably be up watching Canada in the Rough(only hunting program i can get). Then off to Timmy's for a Large double-double to drink on the way to the camp. Then when I finally get there, I'll make the descision to sit in a ground blind watch the corner of a field or 15 feet up in my tree stand at the opposite end.
