Back to the Gym!

Im a long term Gym rat. Ive been going pretty regular for the past 8 or so years. Sadly ive taken the past year off.

I had quit working in Tulsa and the quality of Gyms around the house was horrible. Most of the equipment was home made. No one put up their weights. Seats were tore, etc.

In Pryor (roughly 10 minutes from the house) they built a new Community Rec Center. I knew they spent millions but hadnt been in. I switched jobs and am driving back to Tulsa so I considered joining back in Tulsa again.

Yesterday I ran to Pryor and decided to check out the Rec Center for the heck of it. Wow! All of the equipment is name brand and state of the art. They have thousands of lbs of free weights, dip bars, awesome leg machines (which is something almost all gyms around the house are lacking), tons of tread mills, etc!

They even have a 21" plasma tv with headphones over EVERY treadmill and stepper! They have a HUGE indoor pool, coffee/ wifi lounge, group classes like cooking, karate, etc. Im in heaven! I get unlimited Gym, pool, indoor track, etc for $25! Unlimited service with a personal trainer and group classes too is only $35! I dont need the personal trainer and dont have time for the classes. Infact I really dont need the pool so ill probably go with the $20 unlimited Gym.

After a year long dry slump im back. I wont be able to walk or break a tooth pick for two weeks but I cant wait! They have to process the app first and then I can start complaining about how sore I am! grin.gif

Anyone else in the Gym?

Re: Back to the Gym!

I workout three days a week until I get about 2 months from deer season and then I add 15 miinutes of cardio and go to 5 days a week. Deer hunting can be hard on your body. I'm a single dad so I work out at the house. My four year old has little one pound dumb bells and thinks he is working out as well. I have a stationary bike and one I get close to season I'm on it for 70 minutes a day. I have watched a lot of cartoons on that bike. I hunt public land so I like to get past all the other guys and gals and sometimes I walk a mile or two with a stand on my back and my gear in my hands. I'm not buff but I have great numbers from my doctor and my lungs and legs are in great shape. I hope this will help me stay hunting till I'm 70.
