Question for you Reflex shooters

Ok, so I'm really leaning towards a Reflex Excursion bow. I was wondering though for those of you who shoot one or any Reflex at all, how does it shoot? Smooth, quiet, not too much vibration, etc...? I was talking to a guy in ab ow shop yesterday and he said with the cam system, some think the draw cycle is a little hard? Personally, I think my Hoyt Mystic Rebel is more of a pain, being about 40" long and it is heavy. So anythinkg you can tell me about the Reflex bows would be great! I'm asking because I may have to order the Reflex Excursion without getting to shoot it first, because no one around has them. The shop yesterday had two Reflexes and while they weren't the correct draw weight, they felt nice in the hand! Oh, one more question, say I ordered it from Cabela's or Basspro, probably Basspro because they have the sight and release I want, is their customer service/return policies good? Thanks!

Re: Question for you Reflex shooters

Most places have a zero return policy on bows. As far as customer service, it just depends on each store. The problem with getting quality service in either of those two stores is they are too darn busy. They literally just don't have time to properly help every customer.

Good luck with the new bow.

Re: Question for you Reflex shooters

i shot a reflex for 4 yrs and loved it. it was i reflex bighorn and don't think they make it anymore. it was fairly smooth. not the quietest bow but not real load either! had to get rid of it cause the last time i shot it sounded like a gun went off! checked it out and both limbs had cracked about 8 inches from the cam and pulley toward the riser! scared the heck out of me!

Re: Question for you Reflex shooters

I have the Reflex Buckskin, I believe its shorter than the Excursion, mine had some hand shock but an STS helped it alot! I also put on a cable dampener, string leeches and it came with Alpha Shox for the limbs. No more vibration, that was the biggest thing I noticed when I first shot it. It was quiet from the get go, draw was nice and quiet, shot smooth and right on off the bat. Light too, bow is under 4 lbs with all the accessories on it.

Personally not sure if I would mail order one though as a pro shop can fit you better to the bow but if you can get one from Bass Pro or Cabelas as soon as it arrived I'd drive to a pro shop and have it fit to your liking. My cams can be adjusted to 27 to 30" drawlengths.

I think you will like the Excursion, what you could do is go to archerytalk.com, you do not need to be a member over there, do a search on Reflex Excursions and see what others say about it from around the country.

Good luck, a Reflex is a great bow! Enjoy it! smile.gif
