I Shot Hoyt for 15 years (bought a trykon 4 months ago,) and after shooting a friens Diamond I bought one (victory) after 40 shots the bus cable's serving is wore and red lube coming out from the pocket andback of the limb. Anyone tell me what gives. I love the way the diamond shoots (better then the Hoyt) Maybe just a cheap string? Thanks for your help.

Re: Question on diamond

I will say that the factory strings on the diamonds are junk . When I bought mine with in a week I had bought a new string and cable and put it on . I would look into a string and cable from Bucknasty from AT . I bought one from him a month ago and it shows no sign of wear at all . Best on the market IMO

I got some Bucknasty strings coming for my bow, from what I have heard, his strings are some of the best. $50.00 for the set and most guys seem impressed, never heard anything negative about the guy.

Take the bow back to the pro shop and see if indeed its a warranty issue. If the pro shop won't work with you contact Diamond and ask them what you should do. Good luck!

Re: Question on diamond

Got it figured out. Diamond has a draw post stop and it changes the valley . If you set it to long for your draw length it will eat the cabel.

Re: Question on diamond

i owned two of the original diamonds(firestorm and widow maker) they were two awsome shooting bows. once i heard bowtech bought them out i sold them and bought an outback. i didn't want to deal w/ bowtech if i needed parts or anything i've heard quite afew bad stories about their service. i wish diamond still was privately owned they had a good thing started.

Re: Question on diamond

I'm with you on that one noobi!

I used to shoot Diamonds when they were actually Diamonds. Heck the original Diamond made most of the parts for Bowtech!

The first round of Diamonds by Bowtech were not that good, IMO. But some of the new line up is pretty nice. Definately some good shooters in that bunch.

Take the bow to a pro shop and have them check it out. Servings go bad for a number of reasons. The bow could just not be set up correctly.
