maddhunter
One of my daughter's freinds was brought to the house by her father who is an avid bow hunter and is thinking about buying a new Mathews bow. He was asking me about the new Mathews that he has been seeing on all the hunting shows. I opened my bow case and asked him if they were a Switchback and he replied "That's the one!!!" I asked him if he would like to shoot it and he said he hurt his shoulder in Iraq and didn't think he wanted to pull it back. So I said atleast come and listen to it anyhow. We then proceeded outside to shoot it. I shot the target and he then asked me what letoff it was. He then decided to try it, again and again and again. He didn't want to put it down. Needless to say I'll be putting his old Mathews in the clasifieds before to long. ONCE YOU SHOOT ONE YOU WILL BUY ONE!!!!!! COME ON OCTOBER 1st !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tom2008
Re: Another One Bites the SB Challenge!!! Won't be going either way for awhile. Atleast until I get enough money maybe next year I'll have to decide. Unless I stick with PSE and they have been pretty good to me over the years. njbowhntr
Re: Another One Bites the SB Challenge!!! I shot an Outback for 2 seasons. And I put it down to go back to basics. I had a longbow custom built. But the Outback is still in the family, my dad shoots it now.

Luckily I did really well selling all my trad gear or I would not be shooting one this fall either. The are amazing on how smooth and shock free they are to shoot. That can not be denied. But price can and wil scare off many potential buyers. JMO

magnatecsteve
Re: Another One Bites the SB Challenge!!! I am in the process of looking for a new bow. I have shot my Magnatec for about three years or so. I went to the shop last week. There was a used Matthews, Trykon, and Ross bows. I got to shoot all three. The matthews had VERY little room after break before you hit the back wall. If you weren't pulling back tight, it wanted to break forward...didn't like it. I shot the Trykon....SSSWEEEEEET!! NO shock at all and FAST!! Then I shot the Ross CR337, liked it better than the Matthews. I have also handled a Bowtec..they draw VERY smooth and are fast. I am still leaning towards the Ross, just a little cheaper than the Hoyt. If I knew of anyone looking at a Matthews, I would suggest that they try a Ross first...NOT saying that Matthews aren't great bows, just for the money, the Ross seems to perform just as good. [/ QUOTE ] So true, so true.....I actually had a guy that worked for a Mathews dealer come in and shoot a Ross and trade off his Legacy to buy a Ross. Ross will definitely have trouble getting past the archery giant though.

Straight Shooter
Re: Another One Bites the SB Challenge!!! Oh the all mighty Mathews hits again! LOL They've got a bgood bow, but not good enough for me. LOL Try this one on, my brother won a Martin Slayer Extreme on AT and didn't like it, so I ended up with it. I'm a die hard CSS fan, but I have never had a bow like this one in my hands. I've got witnesses and I wouldn't believe it if I didn't shoot it. I can take a 75 grain Muzzy, 85 grain field tip, 100 grain glue in, Magnus Stinger 100 grain, and a 100 grain Tekan II, all put ACC 349's and put all of them into the bulleye's out to 40 yards. No left or right stuff betwen fixed blade, field tip, or mechanical heads. It's truely unreal but it's been done with this bow. i don't know if it's the Dyna cam or what, but I'll not get rid of this bow. Just something for the Mathews shooters to think about. LOL Oh yeah, I've shot one and still done own one.
Buckslayer
Re: Another One Bites the SB Challenge!!! [ QUOTE ] Still not gonna shoot one. [/ QUOTE ] Hafta agree. I spent $1000 bucks setting up my Bowtech only three short years ago, and got a new string this spring! There's no way I'm gonna come up with that cash, plus I'd hate to take the Bowtech sticker off my truck LOL
Swamphunter
Re: Another One Bites the SB Challenge!!! I wasn't even in the market for a new bow as I had a perfectly good 2 year old bow and shot the XT on a whim. Fought off the urge to purchase for over a week until I couldn't bear it anymore. After being a PSE man for 20+ years....I gave them up and went to the Mathews.
