Jeramie
In the past 14 hours I’ve dealt with some of the dumbest people alive. I don’t say that lightly because I was once young and dumb, Ok I still am.. Anyway, three things have happened to me that are beyond reason. Btw, this is three separate stories so it may be a little long. 1. I ran to the bank after work yesterday to deposit my check. I typically keep out $200 in cash and deposit the rest. Because the bank is on the East side of Tulsa I have to take the turnpike on the way out of town. Therefore I get $2.00 in quarters (its only $.75 but I put the rest in my pocket). Anyway, I get to the teller who happens to be a new girl. I hand her the deposit and say, “Can I get $2 of that back in quarters please?” She says, “I guess so.” I can already see that little hamster starting to run full speed while she tries to calculate $2 in quarters and the change that would be left in $200. Its not computing so she tells me, “Quarters only come in $10 rolls.” Because I could see a potential problem I figured id just stop by sonic for a drink and get some change there, “That’s to much, that’s ok.” She smiles and happily counts out $190 and then lays a $10 roll of quarters on top. Honestly it would have been like pulling teeth to get that $10 bill back so I back away from the counter and head home. I need to wash my truck and such anyway. 2. We decided to head to KFC last night. We had some running to do and it was something we could take back home with us. We wait in line (drive through) for about 8-minutes before we finally make it to the window for the food. I’m ready to go home so I move on when my wife reminds me to get butter, honey, and bbq. I pulled over to the side and ran in. I stand at the counter for roughly 8-minutes watching a group of pimple faced teens stand in the back and visit. There were two of the group actually working. I cleared my throat in attempt to get some help. The one girl running like mad said, “Ill be right with you sir.” The others continued with their rudeness. While I was standing there I watched a roach run across the food prep table the girl was working on. Now I’m really ticked. Finally the girl makes it over and because she was pretty much the one carrying the place I was very polite, “I came through the drive through and forgot to get butter, honey, and bbq.” “Did you pay for it already sir?” “Pay for condiments? That stuff isn’t free?” “The butter and honey are but you have to pay for the bbq.” “Ok, in that case give me honey and butter.” She hands me a ton of stuff and didn’t bother putting it into a bag so im standing there with my hands full when she asks, ”Do you need BBQ?” I said, “I though BBQ cost?!” She looked at me with that rabbit in the headlights look and said, “BBQ cost?!?!” She then proceeded to turn to her co-workers and ask, “Does BBQ cost?” My head is spinning. I used my back to open the door behind me (because my hands are full of honey and butter that took me roughly 12-minutes to get). Now I have a headache. 3. This morning I’m on my way in and I decided to be bad because I’m starting my workout routine Monday. I stopped for a Sausage roll and doughnut. I tell the older woman behind the counter, “I need a sausage roll and a dozen doughnut holes please.” She turns around and shuffles off to her task. The then returns and rings me up, ”$4.45”. I hand her a ten and then look up at the price board for confirmation. The sausage roll $1.30 and the doughnut holes $1.15. I said, “Maam, the sausage roll is $1.30 and the doughnut holes are $1.10?!” “Yeah.” “How did you come to that amount? That’s to much” She looked at me with that look im becoming very farmiliar with, “You said two sausage rolls!” “No maam, I said a sausage roll and a dozen doughnut holes..” It was like a bad episode of SNL, she started repeating, “You said two sausage rolls, you said two sausage rolls…” I was waiting for her head to spin and her to start chanting “Red Rum.” Finally she yells at the guy who owns the place because she has managed to push every button on the register twice. Finally I said, “You know what, ive got a guy at the office that will take that other roll off my hands. Don’t worry about it.” Apparently that flipped her toggle because she then said in a sweet old lady voice, “Are you sure honey?” As soon as work is out I’m going to the house and crawling into bed……. Maybe tomorrow will be remotely sane.
Tominator
Re: Ive lost all hope for the future.... Ohiobucks
Re: Ive lost all hope for the future.... Wow....I've dealt with people like that as well, but not so many in such a short period of time. Kudos to you for not going off on someone! I don't know how you guys could sit in a drive thru for 8 minutes though. That's ridiculous. Had you already paid? And as far as that chick at the bank.......I don't think she's qualified to be working there if she can't figure out how to give back change. Duuuuuuuuuuuhhh!!!!! I sure wouldn't want her handling MY account!!! You need one of those t-shirts that makes fun of that line from the movie "The Sixth Sense"......it says : "I See Stupid People". I had no idea how little was actually going on inside. Im far more ticked about waiting at the counter for 12-minutes for butter and honey. At the kfc, after seeing the roach and all the trouble they gave you, I would have been taking the food back in and asking for my money back. Been one of those crazy kind of weeks here. OJR
Re: Ive lost all hope for the future.... LMBO!! Sorry!! LMBO!!! Sorry!! I think I will stay clear of your area! Yesterday I went to fill the car with gas, 2 gals were ahead of me, so I waited in line! The one directly in front, gets out of her car and stands looking at the hills across the river and never started to do anything! The other one takes the nozzle off the pump before she did anything about paying! The pump doesn't work this way, so she called the attendant to fix the pump! I backed up and got in a different line! 2 ahead of me and they both filled their tanks and were gone! I filled mine and the 2 gals were still pumping gas!! CRAZY!! Is it the moon or has everyone slipped a cog or two???

[/ QUOTE ] Just for you Andrea [image][/image] When I was in high school the place I worked always did inventory around the New Year holiday. We worked over night and would get grub around midnight. One particular year we decided to get McDonalds. So I took 7 people's orders and went to McDs. Midnight, just me with a 30 dollar order, and the punk behind the counter looks me dead in the eye and says..."Is that for here or to go?" I looked around and asked if he thought I could eat all that food myself. I got the blank stare, so I made it easy and said "To Go!"
buckee
Re: Ive lost all hope for the future.... Go home and lock all the doors ...LOL That's some pretty funny (in a very sad way) stuff. I think we all have days like that, every now and then, and I'm really starting to think there is something to that, "It always happens in three's" thing. Steven
Re: Ive lost all hope for the future.... Its not just the menial workers that are idiots. I worked at Burger King in highs chool and dealt with plenty of idiots on the customer's side of the counter everyday. Me: Will that be for here or to go? Customer: Why does that matter? Me: Ok. I proceeded to sit his burger and fries directly on the counter. Customer: What is this? Me: Whopper with cheese, medium fries. Customer: Where's the bag? Me: You wouldn't tell me what you wanted. Customer: Let me talk to your manager! Manager: Yes sir? Customer: This moron sat my food directly on the counter without a bag or tray. Manager: Is this true, Steven? Me: Yes. He refused to tell me what he wanted. Manager: Sir? Customer: He never asked. Manager: Sir, I was standing 10 feet away, I heard him ask. Customer grabs food and walks away.
