A little while ago i inherited an ithica featherlight 12ga semi auto. Well i was just wondering if anyone has used or has this gun and what they think of it. The pros and cons of the shotgun.

Re: ithica shotgun

Shot my first deer with an old Ithaca 20ga that my uncle bought my dad when he was still a kid. We've got that 20ga & a 12ga that are basically identical. The bead sights have fell of both of them so they don't really get used now, but I'd like to get them resighted so they can be used again.

Re: ithica shotgun

Know exactly what you have because I have one. One of the nicest semi-autos. ever made, very simple design and flawless functioning. After Rem. bought out Ithaca's patent on the semi-autos they (Rem.) came out with the 10 ga. auto. and never let go of that patent. That is why the later Ithaca companies never made a semi-auto. again, only pumps. The gun fits me perfectly and is the first gun I ever got a grouse flying with. Many doves and other winged critters have "bit the dust" after that initial purchase of the first shotgun that actually "fit" me. Like their "floating" vent rib and Ithaca Rabar front sight also. Enjoy your mod. 51 and if you ever need to know anything about it, contact me. Terry.

Re: ithica shotgun

I have one and I love it. My dad recently handed it down to me and I would take it over most of our other guns. They shoot extremely well and fit me like a glove, not to mention you can shoot it all day long and never have a problem with the gun or your shoulder. Goodluck with the gun!!
