Re: what do you guys think of...

I have 3 of them......a 23, 27 & a 29.......and love them all. They hit what I'm shooting at, weigh loaded what many autos weigh empty, come in any color you want as long as it's black, are virtually indestructable, are microwave & dishwasher safe (O.K. don't try the microwave part), absolutely have NEVER failed to feed or eject for me and are relied upon by over 60% of all American law enforcement agencies. What more do you want??

That being said..........be very wary of anyone else who posts an opinion to this question. grin.gifsmirk.gifgrin.gif

I have a feeling there will be some crackpot advice coming. wink.gif

Re: what do you guys think of...

I have had a 23 for about 5 years now, its a good gun, not one single complaint with it.

Glocks are good guns, but I think I am starting to like the XDs even more.

Re: what do you guys think of...

Glocks are probibly the finest law inforcement handguns on the market. However, because of their lack of safty features I don't think they are a good choice with young curious children in the house unless you keep a lock on them or in a gun safe. I personally wouldn't have one at this point. Maybe later when my kids are older.

Were you refering to me? LOL

Its all personal choice....I don't hate Glocks, I'm actually thinking about making my own handgun very much like a Glock. As soon as I get enough plastic milk jugs to melt down...we'll be in buisness! wink.gif

Seriously...they aren't bad guns, just not my cup of tea. I perfer metal over plastic and sorta partial to the 1911 style frames.

i have a g21 and a g32, i got the 21 because i always wanted a 45 and i got the 32 because it came in .357 sig. talk about an awesome pistol! that is my concealed carry pistol in a sidearmor iwb holster, but please people your bullets go in the magazine not a clip!!!

Re: what do you guys think of...

Actually the BULLET goes into a casing which in turn becomes a shell or a round then the shell or round is loaded into a magazine not a clip. When the trigger is pulled, said BULLET hopefully leaves the dangerous end of the pistol and the empty case is ejected from said pistol. This continues until the magazine, not the clip, is empty.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. That was my lame attempt at humor. smirk.gif I'm sure AJ will be able to really clear things up for us. Hehehe! wink.gif

Re: what do you guys think of...

actually, some of the older glocks had this problem with blowing up... they changed the barrel design and supposedly they don't do it any more. the finish of the glock is about 9890845 times better than the XD - the xd shows holster wear pretty fast, but i'd still take the xd over the glock. if you're looking at composite frames, be sure you check into the Steyr and the Sig Pro. I'd take the Steyr first, Sig Pro second, XD third and Glock last. Steyr makes a sweet shooting gun that is very reliable.

Xen

Have you ever shot a Steyr? I see them in my hanggun magazines all the time but don't know anyone that has experience with them? They look pretty sweet in the ads but that is all I know about them.

Re: what do you guys think of...

clay, i have shot the steyr m9, s9, and s40 (not the new style a1 models however) i own and carry a steyr s40, and my wife owns and carries the s9. they are great guns. i've never had a misfeed on my .40 when using new factory ammo.

i really like the triangle/trapezoid sights they use. recovery is very fast with the large sights, which are great for me since i can never seem to put my contacts in.

the finish isn't as good as a glock, but is better than the xd. if you use a padded holster, you'll never have a problem, but if you use a kydex holster, you will start to notice holster wear. (when i talk about holster wear, i'm meaning hundreds of times in and out of a kydex holster, not once or twice, just to clarify)
