Guest luckyman4
Re: Homemade elevated tower blinds... whos got pic [ QUOTE ] It now has a stove heater, with exhaust vent. Two recliners, one of which is leather, the other is jsut like a lazy boy, shelves for storing binoculars, bullets, etc. My sister shot her first buck out of that stand last year with my dad and my grandpa both at her side. I used to have a portable located about 40' up the whitepine you see coming into the picture on the left. I've since moved due to lack of seniority. lol [/ QUOTE ] We might laugh at the luxury of this blind, but whatever it takes to keep people in the woods also keeps them hunting. Keep him hunting, James, because some day when your grandchildren are building blinds for you, some of your fondest memories will be from that palace on stilts. As they say in the commercials, "Family, Friends, and the Outdoors."
VTbowman
Re: Homemade elevated tower blinds... whos got pic NOTHING and I mean NOTHING wrong with comfort and hunting IMHO. I aint getting any younger and finding those dark to dark vigials I use to do just do not happen any more. I get to sore and to cold to quick now. I have two box stands that we heat and have comfortable chairs in. Not recliners but way more comfy then a tree stand. Ok maybe not my Tree Lounge, but good enough. LOL I can take my young kids out to hunt and keep them warm, safe, and more interested in the hunt then on how cold they are. I love my box blinds on those super blustery days or the steady rain days when a tree stand would be left within 30 minute. JMO

rifleman25
Re: Homemade elevated tower blinds... whos got pic I have an abandoned farmstead and often I find myself hunting from the upper level of the garinery with a Mr. heater mounted on a propane tank and sitting on a lawn chair. It is not real classy but it is confortable and has produced quite a few good bucks.
