Hoyt03
Does anyone here use a model 700 Remington for deer hunting? What model CDL,BDL<etc and caliber do you like? Are they decent rifles?
Guest Finn
Re: Remington Deer Rifles My brother has an older BDL 30-06 and it's been a great rifle. My uncle has a .243 or .270 Mountain Rifle and it's also good.
toddyboman
Re: Remington Deer Rifles [ QUOTE ] Are they decent rifles? [/ QUOTE ] YES!! YES!! YES!! Amazing rifles. Depending on where I hunt depends on if I carry one or not. If I take the remington it is a model 700 sendero in a 300 mag, zeroed at 500 yards, and it is deadly accurate. OJR
Re: Remington Deer Rifles That is all I used to use! Remington, model 700ADL, 270 caliber! Shot a lot of animals with it! I shot the barrel out! I had it rebarreled and it never shot as good! I sold it! Now I have a couple of Tikka's, T-3, 270 and a 308 and they are great! I do not plan on getting rid of them or trading them for anything!

M00N
Re: Remington Deer Rifles My father uses the Remington Model 700 SPS Stainless in .30-06 and I shoot the Remington Model Seven SS in .243 Win. Both guns look, shoot, and handle excellently! My Model Seven SS just basically looks like a smaller version of my father's that's much lighter to carry. It shoots just as accurate, if not more than his, because it's easier to hold and steady since it's lighter. He always is trying to get me to trade him guns once we get hiking up and down those mountains after deer.
wtnhunt
Re: Remington Deer Rifles Have killed a lot of deer with my 700 adl. It is chambered in .270, been hunting with that rifle for about 11 years now.

RangerClay
Re: Remington Deer Rifles The guy I work with, his whole family uses nothing but for deer hunting. They each have .243's and the three of them can drice tacks.
JimT
Re: Remington Deer Rifles My 700 adl 30-06 has been a great rifle for me. Cannot go wrong with a Remington in my mind. Just find the right load to match the gun and run with it. If you take care of it the gun should out last you.
rifleman25
Re: Remington Deer Rifles .270 here in the mountain rifle, BDL in 7mm mag, BDL in 25-06. Then I started buying Brownings. The Remington is tough to beat though.
Guest andymansavage
Re: Remington Deer Rifles My dad has used his since 1975 for deer and elk. ADL in 30-06, can't go wrong. Andy
toddyboman
Re: Remington Deer Rifles I have already stated how great I think the rifle is, so I did a count of how many we currently have: 13 rememington model 700. Some vs, sendros, bdl, vls, mountain Rifle. As for calibers everything from 223 to 300 mag. So again I say awesome rifles.

Guest silver
Re: Remington Deer Rifles I just got a 700 SPS SS in 7mm mag. From the bench we had 1 hole groups at 100 yards with factory amo. No more excuses.
Strut10
Re: Remington Deer Rifles I have a .270 ADL with which I have never shot anything other than paper. It groups well with factory ammo. The trigger is decent. It's ugly. I'd call it a good "working rifle". I've shot some BDL's. They are pretty and seem to generally shoot well, too. I shot one in 7mm-08 one time that kicked the dog crap out of me. Not nice to shoot at all. I looked at the SPS Youth with my daughter when she went to buy a rifle last fall. Piece of garbage. Bolt worked rough as a cob. 10 different places for mud and dirt to accumulate. Did not even compare in the same league as othe similarly prices synthetic rifles. Look at them all. Shoot as many as you can (they aren't hard to find) and form your own opinion.
