Personally, I think they should require passports to do that from now on, and if they can't get one, then they'll just have to stay here. To be more correct perhaps we ought to use the latin taxonomy "Branta canadensis." By the way, try to find anything about a naturalist or ornithologist named "John Canada" or "John Miles Canada" and see what you find. There is not one shred of evidence that such a person ever existed or that he had anything to do with the common or scientific naming of the Branta canadensis. Aside from some migratory anomolies this goose is a North American bird giving more credit to its scientific taxonomy than to some most assuredly fictional charachter.
