elkhntnfool
I was wondering what chokes you guys and gals like to use and for what type of hunting. i.e over decoys jumpin' or pass shooting. I'm tring to find a good extended choke tube for my Rem. 11-87.
longhorn57
Re: Choke tubes. over decoys mod and for goose hunting i use full, I have been thinking about getting a pattern master or poly-choke for my 11-
huntn4bucks
Re: Choke tubes. I typically hunt over big water decoy spreads so I use the factory modified choke in my Benelli SBE. I also hunt flooded private land sometimes where the action is up close so I typically use the factory Improved Cylinder choke. I've been debating whether to buy an aftermarket choke but just can't seem to convince myself that I would kill more ducks with one.
DU_man_84
Re: Choke tubes. i use a northwind duck choke, its and extra full, i found it at walmart one year at the end of the season, it was normally 30 bucks and marked down to 5 bucks so im like whats 5 bucks, so i bout it and i have been using it for the past 3 years and love it,
double_drop
Re: Choke tubes. for ducks i normally shoot an ic choke early season then go to a light modified towards middle and late season. for geese early season i use a ic choke but for late season i put in my long range goose choke it is made by carlson and let me tell you it does the job. dogdoc
Re: Choke tubes. i usually hunt a 4 acre pond over decoys and use an IC choke. Like double drop toward the end of the season I'll switch to a modified choke. However--I always have my 2 chokes with me and if the ducks are not decoying good I'll switch in mid hunt. I just use the factory chokes that came with my MB
Strut10
Re: Choke tubes. For field geese over dekes I use factory IC tube......some days a spreader load would be nice. I usually keep a factory modified and an extended super-full in my pack in case something changes.

boomer
Re: Choke tubes. The main choke I use is a modified. But for late in the season for geese I might put in a patternmaster. For snow geese I use a patternmaster.
too_pointer
Re: Choke tubes. Is everyone here who duck hunts talking about a choke for steel shot or hevi shot, or something different from them ? It sure makes a difference ! I'm not a user of steel, I just plain don't like it Using steel is a hole different choke than the rest. too_
