Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
i once again am sick of my peep sight...its a shurz, one where it divides the string into 2 sections...i had the one that divided the string into 3 sections but it kept twisting and part of the string would get in my way...and now the one i have is moving....i looked at it the other day and it was a little crooked and i noticed it could move it with my fingers. what do you guys use for peep sights? i am thinkin about goin with something with a rubber tube don't really want to but it seems like the only way i am gunna get my peep to straighten out every time...thanks in advance

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Peep sights.. i used to have one on my old bow but i got rid of it because the rubber tube kept coming off of where it connects to the peep....i am thinkin maybe i just didn't have enough slack in between the peep and where it connects on the cable
magnatecsteve
Re: Peep sights.. I've been bowhunting for about 11plus years now, and the dreaded turning peep was a real pain. I was constantly having to check it. It was even worse before the string loop craze caught on, that helped a little, but eventually that string would find its' way back in front of the ol' eyeball...so I have been shooting a tube style peep now for two hunting seasons, three 3-D seasons, and unless something better comes along, I'll probably keep it on. You could look into a TRU-Nock, I think thats what they're called, anyway, they're made by TRU-BALL. They have some with the metal loop(not good with Scott Mongoose release, found out the hard way), or there is just a flat metal aligner that you attatch to your string that your arrow nock goes into to alaign the peep. I haven't seen or heard anything bad about the TRU-NOCK models, so you might want to check those out. If you go back to the tube, the trick is to have enough slack so that the peep straightens out JUST BEFORE you get to full draw, that way there isn't very much tension on the tube. Guest antlers21
Re: Peep sights.. I use the hose but the silicone one, I have had many others as well but I change my hose periodically so it wont break in the field. When you talk about $2 for three feet of silicone tubing a year that is minimal and I love seeing my pins every time.
Tominator
Re: Peep sights.. only thing i can tell you is to keep rearranging the string to adjust the peep, which is a real pain in the.... or get a string loop and adjust the knots on the loop so that when you pull the loop, the peep turns too. muggs
Re: Peep sights.. it's really important to change your hose often. I heard of a guy that lost an eye when it broke and came back and hit him.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Peep sights.. [ QUOTE ] I use a combo of a kisser and the hose, my only problem is that the peep hole (?) is a little small. I might run a drill bit through it this weekend steve [/ QUOTE ] i just went and bought a hose peep...i to use a kisser with it...and the hole on the one i got was to small so i took a drill bit and drilled it out to be just a tad larger than my old peep...works like a champ now being left eye dominant and shooting right handed i need to have as big a diameter as i can
Tony
Re: Peep sights.. first of all a string loop will only help so much if you dont have quality strings on your bow... on my Hoyt razortec i put a Fletcher tru peep in the hunter 1/8 size.. the use of the string loop and the quality string that the bow came with makes it so that once the bow is shot in the peep rotates perfectly each time... fo some of you looking for an answer .. it could be just put a d loop on and it will help.. maybe a new quality string will do the job. but obviously some of you wont want to put 100 dollar stings on your bows so you might just have to bite the bullet and go with the peep rubber.. it might be as easy as just putting another 1/2 twist in the string ...but i recommend that an archery shop help you with this... most of them when they install peeps will help you get its so that it rotates good for you.. spikekiller
Re: Peep sights.. I agree with tony....a high quality custom made string that does not twist will solve your peep problems.....Winners Choice is prolly one of the most well known strings but there are others that make great strings for less. I bought a set of Berry strings this past spring...wayne newberry makes a good string that doesnt twist for about sixty bucks.I have also heard good things about Prostrings as well. Do some searching on different archery sites and you should find more info on custom strings and who makes them john
