c_lou
I bought one this weekend and was trying it out. It's one of those with the pre-set rubber bands placed on the reed. I tried following the directions to make the fawn & doe bleats, and ended up sounding like a regular buck grunt. Anybody have a sound file of what those 2 should sound like? Or any suggestions? I was pushing down on the rubber bands but that only made it sound like a sick cow.

tp793
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... For the most part I use mine as a plain old grunt tube, but when I have played around with the others mine sounds just fine..maybe take it back and have them look at it? hunterfisherman
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... I only use it as a grunt tube but you have to apply a lot of pressure with your fingures on the very front end on the tube to get the bleeps. They are not great bleeps but they'll do. The True Talker is known more for the grunt side. It's a great call. Best one I have
kidd
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... it is a great tube i use mine for the grunt and got the can for the bleat nate
Guest fishermanwhohunts
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... I own one. The DVD that comes with the ones from outdoor stores tells you that you have to set the rubber bands on the proper tones your self. If you bought it from walmart it didn't come with the DVD. The DVD will show you what each call sounds like so you can set it properly.
magnatecsteve
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... Yeah, you can get a decent doe grunt, but not a fawn bleat. I love the Talker for grunting though. Just a suggestion....a bleat is VERY easy to do by mouth..I have been doing it by mouth for years now...heck, it just sounds like a sheep sound..and every deer has a different pitch. Just try saying MMEEEEERRRRR, You will find it Very easy to mimick a doe bleat. I have actually called a doe in to within 10 yards by doing a distress bleat.. bulldawg
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... What I do is press it down as hard as you can, and then just let it up a hair. It takes some practice at home, but you can make it work good for you. Dawg

Jeramie
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... Ive been carrying one for years. I have one in my truck so on the way home last night I enertained myself just for you..... Honestly, its probalby one if not the best grunt out there. As far as a bleat, id do as other sugggest and buy the can. Im sure with some practice it would work but when a deer comes into sight the last thing you want to do is fiddle around with a call trying to make it do exaclty what you want it to. I wanted a good doe bleat for opening weekend. We have Earn a Buck up in these parts, so I am trying for a doe early. Thanks for the suggestions all. MikeB
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... Awesome call!!. Ignore the bands and figure what you like best. I used mine to call in 4 does. The big one was tasty!!!

wtnhunt
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... Have considered the true talker. Saw them at wal mart for $10. Have 4 or 5 different grunt calls now, but I may just end up with one before season opens.

Stinger-Hunter
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... C Lou, you have to really hold down the rubber in order to make it sound right. There were a few times that I used it and didn't have a tight grip on it, or I was trying to make a quiet sound with it and inadvertantly held it softly at the same time and it sounded like a dying cow. You have to really hold the rubber down tight. Other than that, it makes some really realistic sounds. I called a few deer while I was inside my truck last year and the does actually came closer to me.
Bownarow
Re: Question on the True Talker grunt tube... I took those bands off and just grunt with it. I have a can call to compliment it.
