Gator
Anyone here use it? I bought some of their "Shockey's gold" ONLY because that was what Bass pro had on sale, in the FFG. I had used their pellets in years past, but after shooting it this weekend, I will never be using pellets again. After 5 shots, with only dry patching between shots, when I tore the gun down to clean, I was really imopressed with how the barrel looked. Nice and shiny, with only a hit of crud in it. In the past, the pellets would leave a heck of a crud ring down where they were seated, and I would always have problems loading after a couple of shots. Not so with the powder. I think i'm gonna like it.

I would like to hear more about users of the Pioneer myself. too_

This stuff is super clean and I had 3 shots touching each other at 100 yds.
Guest littlered
Re: American Pioneer Powder i've heard of people useing it and loving it to start with but it does have a drawback to it. when i was reading this they were saying that it shot good and burned hot.... a liltte to hot the powder was creating heat that was making the hole from the primer to the powder wider and wider all the time. IMO i think this would create a problem of blowback and potential danger if the hole grew to be to large. if you start using this powder watch this issue and if nothing happens i would like to know because i have been holding back on trying the powder for that reason. red
Gator
Re: American Pioneer Powder I have shot the pellets for YEARS, and just switch to the powder form, and at leats with the pellets, I haven't noticed anything like you have described. str8shooter48
Re: American Pioneer Powder I've been shooting Clean Shot in both pellet and powder form and now APP for 5 yrs. I still have the original breech plug from my Encore I don't see any erosion in the flash hole. I switched to the 25 ACP conversion with little larger flash hole and it looks fine too. iabow
Re: American Pioneer Powder I'll keep an eye on that. My gun is a little older CVA so hopefully it don't do anything to it.
billkay
Re: American Pioneer Powder Tried it one year at the range. I didn't like the fact that each time I loaded a pellet of the APP, it shaved some off the corners of the pellet. I get great results with 777. WGumz
Re: American Pioneer Powder I also have switched to the Shockey's Gold. I have the same problem with the corners shaving off when I am sticking it in the barrel. But I have not noticed any difference between the 777 and APP, besides the APP alot cleaner. I could not believe it when I took my ML apart and found how clean it was. I figured I would have to resight the ML in after changing powder, but there was no difference. Same groups with the APP and the 777.
