Update on my AR-15 jamming

Recommended Posts

Just a refresher, my AR-15 is not pulling the empty case out when it is fired, but will pull it out every time when the gun is hand cycled. One thing I may not have been clear about before is that the bolt is moving back and pushing the next cartridge forward until it hits the empty fired case.

I was FINALLY able to make it out to shoot. I bought a can of foaming barrel cleaner. I sprayed it down the gas tube, waited a few minutes and then ran the pipe cleaners down the gas tube until they came out clean. Wasnt able to make the turn and go into the barrel. Then cleaned everything else. Put everything back together with a light oiling of the bolt and loaded up a 20 round clip. I made it about 10-12 shots before the first jam ocurred. But by half way through the second 20 round clip, it was jamming every time. The empty cases do have some light scratches from the shoulder all the way back. Another thing I just noticed, the "lip" that the ejector catches has scatches from the ejector sliding off of it, but they are not even a fingernail in toward the center of the case.

sorry for the long post

Re: anyone??

You can ship your complete upper to anyone, gunsmith or not. The lower receiver is the part that is controlled. I suggest you check with the people at AR15.com they have a decent forums with gunsmiths, shooters, and fans of the black guns. I think they will give you the most help, and point you at a good gunsmith that specializes with the AR.
