Re: 40 Yard Time

[ QUOTE ]

Good time would be sub 5. Anywhere from 4.5 on up to 5 is pretty good for that age. Anything below that, call a scout, cuz he can fly. grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Chris has it. I'd say 4.5 would be a pretty good time for a kid that age.

Now the real question is, what's a good 40-time for Tominator. grin.gif

My all time best was 4.8 my senior year. That was the last time I was timed.

Today, LOL--I'd probably pull up about 20 yards into it with a blown hammy. grin.gif

Re: 40 Yard Time

I ran a constant 4.7 throughout my "glory days", but that isn't too bad for a 6' 235 pound kid. That being said, we had a couple 4.2-.4.4er's on our team, and I never had any issues running them down once the adrenaline got going.

At any rate, in all honesty, anything under 5 seconds is considered "good speed" so to speak as far as high school ball goes, so provided you can stay under 5, you'll be just fine. Granted, 4.5-4.7 will open more eyes, but good old fahioned skill can always make up for lack of speed wink.gif

[ QUOTE ]

I'm 15 and I can run it in 5 flat, but I know some people who can run it in 4 flat.

[/ QUOTE ]

4 FLAT?????? Are you 100% sure? lol shocked.gif

Anything 4.2 and under is considered world class speed and there are very few people in the world that can do that lol grin.gif

Consider thet Deion Sanders is considered the fastest man to ever play football and his 40 times was a 4.1 something.

We'll the stop watch must have beened messed up because it said 4 flat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not to sound rude or try and disrespect you in anyway, but I think the coach was hitting the stop button a little prematurely. Knowing one person who runs a 4.0 flat is something to behold, but a couple of people lol shocked.gif

Didn't Deion Sanders run 4.1?
