New to bowhunting !!!!

Hey Remington, I would strongly suggest having an archery pro set up your bow for you, they generally have great knowledge and will be able to set your draw length and peep as well as match your bow to some arrows... as far as accessories... I am a huge fan of Sim's Limb savers, rest preference will be up to you, I use a drop away but I know many different bow hunters and hardly any of us agree on "the best". Stabilizer, once again, personal preference... I have a Sim's that is a 6 inch w/ a dampner, I prefer to keep them short since in the woods the longer stabilizers can get in the way... arrows.... carbon or alluminum, once again personal preference (there are arguements over speed versus penetration) go with what makes you comfortable...the bottom line is if you like the equipment you are shooting with and are comfortable with your bow, you will generally shoot better and w/ more confidence. Best of luck.

Re: New to bowhunting !!!!

A peep sight goes on your bowstring, which is used in conjunction with your regular sight (like rifle sights - front and back)

There are lots of good stabilizers out there - avoid the older style "dead weight" ones. All they are is a hunk of metal. Look at one with dampening technology - there are tons.

You cant go wrong with a stout, 2 prong TM Hunter style rest, but drop away rests are awesome and so worth the money

Get a strong sight with bright fiber optic pins, .029 is a good size, no more than 3 pins to start - try setting them at 15, 25, and 35 yards. Shoot the gap in between them for distance of 10, 20, 30, and 40 - it;s fun to shoot distance! Get proficient and extend your effective game range!

Get a removable bow mounted quiver - practice with and without it!

Limbsavers are also needed for the limbs.

Good luck

[/ QUOTE ] Yup. Use a Whisker Biscuit rest..You will love it!!! Go to a pro shop for sure and have them help you with your shooting form. Use a dampening stabilizer. Most of all.... Practice like Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
