Guest Andrea
Ugh................I don't know why I even turned this on. They should have named it : Blame the White Man. This documentary about New Orleans/Hurricane Katrina was made by Spike Lee........so it wasn't THAT surprising that the tone would be what it is. I turned it off. Got real tired of hearing all the poor mouthing and pointing of fingers.

jdickey
Re: When The Levees Broke ( HBO doc.) I feel the same way... Spike Lee is the "other" Michael Moore! Just so you know where the State of Louisiana has placed their priorities..... $32 MILLION TO DO THE REPAIRS FOR THE SUPERDOME! FOOTBALL FIRST.... FAMILIES... SOME WHERE DOWN THE LINE! horst
Re: When The Levees Broke ( HBO doc.) Nagin was on TV the other day at a hearing discussing the rebuilding of the city.As of now theyre putting the old earth and rock levees back together out of basically the same materials because they couldnt afford to reinforce them with concrete, rebar, and mesh.Last time I checked Ray Nagin certainly wasnt white, and by rebuilding them in this fashion hes almost certainly asking for more problems.Stupid doesnt really have a color barrier apparently

horst
Re: When The Levees Broke ( HBO doc.) ACtually theres around a billion dollars in aid thats supposed to be going down there still thats making its way from the feds down through the state.Instead of shoing the levees up and waiting for the money hes going ahead with rebuilding them in this fashion, thats what i cant understand.A good chunk of the moneys already made it to the state so its not far from reaching them Gonna be hard to convince people to move back with earthen levees back in place I would think
