Strut10
Had this mount outside today to dust it. Thought I'd snap a pic to post. Shot this bird about 10 years ago. I was coming in just at the end of a long day of fall turkey hunting and it was snowing pretty hard. I spied this rooster hunkered down under a pine tree a loooong way across the field. I had already unloaded my gun. So I slid a #6 turkey load back in (a BPS 10 ga.) and held on top of his noggin. There it is. He measured (if I recall correctly) around 44" or 45" from beak to tail. Tominator
Re: Phesant mount pic Great looking bird Don. One of these days I'll mount one. I should have mounted the one I shot last year, he had a dandy tail on him.
Nick
Re: Phesant mount pic Nice one Strut! But a real man would have flushed him and shot him flying.

Strut10
Re: Phesant mount pic [ QUOTE ] ground pounded him huh? [/ QUOTE ] Case of a beautiful bird being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just wasn't his day. Actually, at the time I shot him, I was doing more pheasant hunting over my Britt than even turkey hunting (believe that one or not). It was against my general grain to shoot one on the ground. But......... see the first paragraph.
