TreeWalker
We just got nailed by a good one here at work in ND.......I work at one of the power plants in the central part of the state.......we just had up to softball size hail with straight line winds in excess of 60MPH........we lost tons of windows out of the plant, and a bunch of us that couldn't get a spot in the loading bays ended up with some good damage....thankfully I drove my work car today, as I had thought about driving my crewcab.........the ol '96 beretta lost a back window and has some divits (spelling) in the hood and roof that looked like you dropped a bowling ball on them........I've never seen hail dents this big.......... So if you're in the upper midwest, keep you eyes peeled, cause it sounds like it could do this kind of thing all day.......

wtnhunt
Re: HOLY HAIL BATMAN Was hearing this morning earlier that there is a pretty bad system over that way, that they think might be capable of producing some tornadoes. Hope everyone stays safe.

I had that fixed and this year I received another $2000+ If you own a car in Oklahoma Its going to get hit sometime. I was in NY, NY (actually Neward NJ) riding a tram around the airport. It was August, I beleive. Anyway, it started hailing like crazy on us. This other guy in there was freaking. It obviously wasnt a big deal to me. I started talking to him about the hail and he told me it was the first time he had seen it hail like that in 10-years! I told him I lived in Oklahoma and that we saw it all the time and he said, "Man, yous guys are crazy!" This from a guy living in the murder Capital of the US..... TreeWalker
Re: HOLY HAIL BATMAN Well, the second storm just blew over.....no hail this time, but lots of high wind again........the two storms combined, we got 3" of rain too......man, there is water running everywhere....but we needed it so bad, so I guess we'll take it anyway we can get it... Looks like the eastern part of the state is gonna get it bad now.....tornado warnings and flash floods......I think where I am at, we're out of the woods. [/ QUOTE ] The southern suburbs and communities to the south got nailed earlier with baseball sized hail. Lots of damage to vehicles reported so far. We've got a tornado watch until midnight tonight. They haven't extended the T-Storm warnings past 4:00 pm yet, but I got a feeling it ain't over yet. So far heavy rain has been the worst of it for us here in St. Paul. But still, good thing my wife thought about getting the new car in the garage today. Now I just have to do some creative piling in order to get mine in there when I get home. Chrud
Re: HEY...I just Happened To THink..... Wow, that is some big hail! I don't think I've ever seen hail much over nickle size. The "worst" I've ever seen was this fall where some sidewalks in town had over a foot of hail accumulated. I couldn't imagine having a storm produce hail that big! OJR
Re: HEY...I just Happened To THink..... TreeWalker
Re: HEY...I just Happened To THink..... I got a couple pics from my Supervisor, so i thought I would post them.....I didn't have time to upload the body ones yet as I am still at work...... One stone hit the front windshield cowling so hard that it busted the windshield underneath it.........you can see one of the soft-ball sized dents on the other side of the hand..... And I found it ironic, that while my rear window was busted, my Realtree sticker stayed in place.....got Team Realtree... (There's another monster of a dent right on the roof above the back window)
