I started shooting a recurve this year and i am hoping to get a deer with it. How succesful have you all been with your traditional bows? I hunt with both recurves and longbows and have been pretty successful with them.I've actually had better success with my trad bows than I had when I shot compound.I found that since I started hunting with stickbows,I watch alot more deer instead of taking 30-40yd shots.I wait til they get close in my comfort range and that seems to work for me.And that's the rush of it--getting a shot at 10yds. Tony Posted August 24, 2006 Report Share Posted August 24, 2006 Re: Traditional? i shoot both Traditional bows and Compounds. i just got into traditional 2 years ago and im waiting to take my first deer with one. i blew 2 easy shots last year at the same doe. however i did shoot my biggest buck with my compound last year right after that. the recurve im shooting is a Hoyt Gamemaster. its 50 lb at 28 inch draw and is in all Realttree Hardwoods green.. [image][/image] i have new arrows this year and i will be shooting the new Muzzy Phantoms in 125 grs.. heres a pic of the new arrows. they are Goldtip 5575 carbon traditionals with 4 inch feathers.. I am more excited for this season to start than any other. I am getting buck fever just thinking about drawing on that first deer of this season.
