We went up to New York to visit my brother-in-law this past weekend and spent some time in Manhattan. It was a great time and we saw a ton of stuff. Here are just a few pix:

Re: New York Trip

how'd you like it? I went up there for a week this summer and absolutely hated it, nothing about that city appeals to me!! Maybe I'm just not a city person, but everyone was rude, it smelled, and it was just too crowded. But it looks like you guys had a good time!!

I've been there a few times before (e.g. shopping in Times Square, Rockafeller Center at Christmas time). I actually enjoy it everytime I go. True there are certain places that do smell funky but it wasn't really that crowded during the week and we were pleasantly surprised by some very kind and helpful people. And everyone needs to experience the New York subways. smile.gif

Looks like y'all had fun. I've been there too. Saw Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. 2 shows everyone should see.

Rode the lovely subway system.....talk about SMELL. crazy.gif

Climbed the Statue of Liberty, went to Tiffany's, Trump Tower. I was so enthralled, I was taking pictures of the homeless people and taxi cabs!!! ( I know...what a redneck) grin.gif

HarvDog, you were in my neck of the woods and I didn't get a shout??? crazy.gifgrin.gif

Did you get to visit Ground Zero? My dad works right around the corner from Ground Zero and probably would've shown you around some.. grin.giftongue.gif

Sorry about not dropping in. Maybe next time. grin.gif

Anyway, we did visit Ground Zero...this was actually the second time. I appreciate the thought about a tour guide. My brother-in-law is NYPD in Manhattan so he gets us around pretty good. wink.gifwink.gifcool.gifcool.gif

Looks as though I was standing in almost the exact same spot as your son nearly 7 years ago. And I agree with you Harv, I love visiting NYC. Lots to see and if you cant find something to do there, then there's something wrong with you. lol
