BowtechTurkeyHunter
Has anyone been following these conservative groups who want to remove Adult movies from hotels and make them illegal? Just wonder what your guys take on this was ... Steve
oldksnarc
Re: Movies in Hotels I'm about as conservative as they come (and don't partake of the porn industry's offerings) but this sounds a little over the top and more like a liberal trying to control our lives. Like TV - change the channel if you don't like whats on.
stevebeilgard
Re: Movies in Hotels i'm to the right of rush limbaugh. right wingers like less, not more, government. i agree that this is a left wing move... take away more rights. while we could do with less porn, i think those who watch it, or even make it, have more rights to do so than i do to take it away. Would think, with the kind of people on the liberal side of things with the mentality of some of their past and present crap that they come up with that, they would leave that industry alone. I mean come on they are for abortion, they are for gay marriage, taking away pornography doesn't really seem to fit
Steven
Re: Movies in Hotels The movies shown in hotels aren't even porn, they're more like R-rated movies on sterroids. Kinda like you'd see late at night on Cinemax. They show nothing but topless and motion- I'll stop there so buckee doesn't have to edit me- but, they're not really porn. And, I agree, the govt. has no place deciding what the public should or shouldn't view. They're not available for everyone, they have to be ordered in a pay-per-view manner. There's no way to accidentally see one.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Movies in Hotels The correct way to go about changing this type of situation is to let the hotel management know what your views are, and also let them know that you have other choices for hotels in the future. Keep the government regulators out of it.

[/ QUOTE ] First of all this statement here is 100% totally false ... and I will leave it at that ... The reason I asked this is because I work for one of the providers to these hotels ... it happens to be the largest provider ... now we supply other movies and services too but porn is deffinately a part of it ... I agree with most here that the government should stay out of it and that it should be left up to the managmement of these properties also ... did you know that you can go into any Ritz Carollton (sp) and not find one porn channel or channel that has porn on it ... and on a side note I bet most ofyou didnt know that the whole Marriott chain went to smokeless hotels ... there is no longer any smoking rooms in Marriott hotels ... I believe this take affect the 1st of Sept. I was mostly curious to see what you guys thought of the reg's they were/are trying to put on the industry ... I mean if they can regulate this where does it end. Steve
Steven
Re: Movies in Hotels Okay, I was wrong. I'll admitt that. I've never stayed at a hotel that offers hardcore porn. There is s abig difference between porn and smoking, though. I'm a smoker and, although I'm not a fan, I'm certainly not offended by porn, as long as it features consenting adults. I understand the non-smoking in hotels. Smoking is a public safety issue as well as just a plain nuisance to non-smokers- I understand that. However, non-smoking rooms and common areas, as well as smoking rooms, would make more sense. But, porn isn't either of those things. Nobody gets sick from second hand porn. You can argue morality all day, but the gov't has no place legislating morality- not in the least.
OJR
Re: Movies in Hotels I agree with Uncle Steven again on this one! I believe that it is Slugshooters signature that states something like this "the Republicans forced me to be a Democrat and the Democrats have forced me to be an Independant"! I agree with part of the but the Demcracts forced me to be a Republican and now the Republicans and the religious right are forcing me to be an Independant! All these moral issues are getting out of hand! Even if the hotels have these movies, who cares! DON'T watch them! Simple!
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Movies in Hotels Uncle Steven I am agreeing with you I was just saying that the government didn't make these hotels go non smoking ... the management did ... it should be the same way with these movies ... porn isnt the only thing that scews judgement in the hotel ... we have some video games that are kinda that way to ... I mean its every where its not the place of the government to monitor this stuff... they should monitor the Oval office and the porn in there maybe ... but not in hotels ... stevebeilgard
Re: Movies in Hotels i've spent thousands of nights in motels in the last 50 years, and never spent a cent on those movies. so, i really don't care that they are there, as they simply don't apply to me. if they were suddely gone, great.
