Adjam5
What do you guys use to strip your fletching? I know there is a fletching removal tool in Cabelas for like 29.99, is there something else one could use to NOT cut into the shaft with? I tried a razor, but it was a bit too sharp and started to shave some carbon. Outside of the tool, is there something else I could use? Any help appreciated. GWSmith
Re: Fletch stripping...what do you use? I use a custom fletching stripper...LOL Use it Serrated side towards the shaft and it does not dig into the shaft at all but it will strip the fletching rather quickly. I have a witness in my friend Dave who saw it work!!! (go ahead and laugh but it seriously works great)
preacherman
Re: Fletch stripping...what do you use? I use a razor blade and I have had no trouble ever cutting into the carbon in the shaft.

Adjam5
Re: Fletch stripping...what do you use? You gave me a great idea! I have a few serrated edge knives that I don't use anymore. I could turn them into fletch strippers I have a Gerber blade that I have in mind. Thanks!
tedicast
Re: Fletch stripping...what do you use? We use a used, semi-dull utility knife blade. I have also used my pocket knife with good results.
Guest sliverslinger
Re: Fletch stripping...what do you use? Hello I just did a bunch of carbon arrows, some with wrap and others with paint. What really worked well for me was a blow dryer held between my legs heating the fletching and wrap while I scraped the shaft with a plastic knife (one purchased for picnics.) This removed the wrap or paint but left a little adhesive residue. Then I took a cotton ball soaked with my wifes fingernail polish remover and the adhesive residue came right off. Then I went over the shaft with rubbing alcohol to get off any fingernail polish that might have been left over. Oh, yes wear gloves while your working in front of the hair dryer, your fingers tend to get a bit warm. Happy hunting Dan

Bownarow
Re: Fletch stripping...what do you use? I just use a dull razor blade. It works pretty good and I have never had it dig into a shaft. I asked the guy at the local pro shop what he used, and he used the same thing.
