The most accurate ones. grin.gif

Get a box of every kind you can find, shoot them all and whatever patterns the best, those are the best ones. Every gun is different.

Don't worry much about performance. They are all nearly and oz of lead, if you hit it in the right spot, it will die. Hitting it is the key and only accuracy and practice can do that.

Also I've found that 2 3/4" shells are more accurate than the 3 or 3 1/2" magnums, save your shoulder and shoot smaller.

Re: what slugs

I have had the best accuracy with 2 3/4" slugs over the 3" slugs. Slightly more velocity is worthless if it does not connect with the target. The added recoil is also not a benefit. As to which slug, like the others have said, it depends on the gun. Lightfield slugs are very popular as are Brenneke. The Hornady slugs with the SST bullet look interesting. Get a box of a few different types and see what your gun likes. Remember that the limited range of the slug gun does not need MOA accuracy. Even with the modern sabots, 150 yards is about tops, so 4" groups at 100 yards is more than good enough for deer hunting.
