gitcha_some
Re: Anyone eat these? blue crabs... theyre alot different than anything anyone else has, the best meat is atually in the claws and inside, the legs have little meat and most people dont eat them
RangerClay
Re: Anyone eat these? Ok! Please enlighten this country boy on how you eat one of these things. Back in 1999 while visiting some wineries we stopped at a seafood restaurant. I ordered a crab sandwich and that's what I got. One of your little boogers on a bun. My buddies had a hoot watching me try to figure out how to eat it. I could not bring myself to eat shell, claws, guts, and all. Did I miss something on Mr. Food? Is that how you eat them? I enjoy snow and king crab but this is different.
Hoyt03
Re: Anyone eat these? You most likely got a SOFT shell crab sandwich. Yes you are supposed to eat the whole darn thing, I know kinda gross. These crabs are collected when they shed their shell. These here ion the pic all have hard shell and would not be very good on a bun.
Rut-Nut
Re: Anyone eat these? [ QUOTE ] Bring on the Garlic butter...I'm ready What kind are they ? [/ QUOTE ] Those are Blue crabs(for the color on the legs before they are cooked- then they turn that nice orangeish color!) Garlic butter? OH NO!!! Blue crabs need that OLD BAY SEASONING- I think it actually originated in the Chesapeake! If you look close at the pictures above, you can see it all over the shells- kinda looks like sand. UM, UM, GOOD.....................I can smell that OLD BAY SEASONING right now!
Rut-Nut
Re: Anyone eat these? [ QUOTE ] eww...i hate all seafood, which doesnt really make sense since i could have all the lobster and crab i wanted...lol [/ QUOTE ] You gotta be kiddn' me Lobsterman...........you hate seafood???!!!! Isn;t that like an oxymoron?!
Hoyt03
Re: Anyone eat these? Old Bay has nothing on the JO#2 seasoning that you see on those crabs. Way better then old bay, its basically what all crab places use on their crabs. If you like old bay you would love JO.
Rut-Nut
Re: Anyone eat these? JO#2? Never heard of it- but if it is better than OLD BAY, I'd like to try it! Never had (blue crabs) at a restaurant. Always make them ourselves. What does JO stand for?
gitcha_some
Re: Anyone eat these? JO is deifinantly the top dog in crab seasoning Old bay just doesnt cut it for anothying accept maybe some shrimp
Hoyt03
Re: Anyone eat these? Not sure what JO stands for but look them up online. They are called JO Spice Company and sell all seafood/fish seasonings. You can order from them online, defintely worth a look, you will never use old bay again.
