toddyboman
Re: Under Armour or similar product? heat gear is for the warmer weather. designed to wick moisture away from your skin and to the outer part of the shirt to evaporate quickly, and keep you dry. cold gear is for cold weather. COld gear does the exact same as heat gear except it has some insulation to it as well so it will keep you warm. Sounds to me you want HEAT GEAR. Awesome stuff. OUTSIDER
Re: Under Armour or similar product? I wear under armour pretty much every day of the week, i own many many pairs of boxer briefs, they keep the boys cool and comfy!!, match it up with socks and a shirt and you are good to go, they take some getting used to, they kinda feel funny on your skin when you first wear them and sweat in it. BUT be forewarned they do tend to get a smell to them...but you can hand wash them every day, wring them dry hang them up for just a little bit and they will be dry. ScottyLuck
Re: Under Armour or similar product? Keep in mind, if you soak this stuff with sweat in the winter you will get cold once you stop moving. You're much better off changing into this stuff once you get to your spot. I've used it and feel the no-name stuff works just as well for half the price.
rifleman25
Re: Under Armour or similar product? I am better changing into the armour when I get in to my spot? I thought the inner part of it wicked moisture out and the outer layer evaporated it? Please explain scottyluck?

Yeah it wicks away moisture but if you get this stuff soaked you're gonna get cold before it drys. I'm a sweater. Therefore I have to change out of whatever I walked in with in order to stay warm. That included the Under Armour when I used it. Tops Like Fitness Gear work just as well and can be had at half the price at Dick's. When I go into the woods on cold days I change right down to my socks and underwear and start with a layer of Justin Charles wool. This is what works for me. It may not for you. As you can tell, some people swear by UA. I think it's more great marketing than anything else.
OUTSIDER
Re: Under Armour or similar product? I sweat like a horse, and in the winter time i have never once gotten cold after sweating with it, when you wear it then put on thermax or something over top that also wicks sweat, you will be dry and warm. It works when i am hunting, snowshoeing, and snowboarding.

johnf
Re: Under Armour or similar product? I've got two sets of the really cheap walmart fake under armour hot weather stuff. One set fits like thier supposed to the other is a little loose. When it's hot I wear the loose stuff when it's cold I wear the tight on bottom and loose over it. I wore that last year and never had to wear more than a fleece jacket over it to stay warm.
RangerClay
Re: Under Armour or similar product? I posted a question similar to this last year. I walk over a mile to get to my stand. I get all sorts of sweaty. However I will not change into my Under Armour till I get to the stand. UA will keep you VERY WARM! I have added an extra hour to my watch after buying this product. I wear cold gear and a micro fleece shirt. Anything you have in your shirt pockets is going to get soaked. The year before I got my UA I bought Bass Pro Shops version of UA and I did not like it. Too thin and did not wick like UA. UA really shines where I hunt in southern NY. There we do deer drives. I will do a drive then sit on watch the next time. It's nice to stop walking and not feel like I am soaking wet.
rhine16
Re: Under Armour or similar product? Under Armour is great... but i don't know if you want the heat gear or cold gear... the heat gear is designed to keep you cool so if you're temps are cool that isn't what you are going to want....the cold gear keeps you warm but doesn't burn you up... i wear a cold gear turtleneck and a t shirt when the temp is in the 60 range and just wear the turtleneck and a jacket when it gets in the 30s
