Guest KS_jon
Was wondering if anyone made there own targets? Im kinda straped for cash at the moment and would like to save some $'s. I thought about getting a Good sized cardboard box, and breaking down alot of other boxes and layering them in the big one till its completly tight. Think that would work? HarvDog
Re: Homemade Archery targets I've heard of some guys layering cardboard and carpet pieces. Not really sure how well they work though.

Guest jayjaysin
Re: Homemade Archery targets Get up a bunch of used newspapers, stack them as high as you want. Buy two ratcheting straps, and cinch then down. Paint some dots on it with spray paint, and you're good to go. It stops my bow and cross bow with field points no problem. shockwave
Re: Homemade Archery targets threaded rods and a couple 2'' by 4''`s would work pretty well to compress the cardboard and carpet layers..
Swamphunter
Re: Homemade Archery targets I used to layer cardboard and it would stop arrows easily. Also the removed easily. Have you thought of using a bale of hay? Pretty cheap, and thats what I use a lot.

huntaholic
Re: Homemade Archery targets At my indoor archrery range the guy buys up all of the old phonebooks from the company and stacks em up, works great
vagobbln
Re: Homemade Archery targets A couple cans of spray insulation (Great Stuff, etc.) sprayed into a cardboard box makes a pretty good target. You can shoot broadheads at it too although it won't last quite as long (duh!). Good Luck.
CamoGuy
Re: Homemade Archery targets Layering cardboard into another cardboard box works great. And since it is free behind every mall and grocery store it is really cheap too I am friends with the local grocery store manager and he saves me a bunch of the big boxes that paper towels come in. Just fill one box with the side panels of the other boxes and it will stop anything. I shoot a 72lb. bow with carbon arrows and have never had a pass thru. Just remember not to leave it out in the rain.
WvBowhunterKE
Re: Homemade Archery targets Thinks a bale of hay would be your chest chance at a good target and if you want to use your cardboard lean it against the bale and spray paint some dots and TAH DAH you have a pretty nice target.. Good luck..
