Guest elk1hunter
Im trying to decide between buying a CVA Kodiak and a Omega X5. I love to hear anyone's opinion on both guns as to which one they feel is a better value. Both are priced fairly close to each other

hunterfisherman
Re: CVA Kodiak vrs Thompson Center Omega X5 I've not shot a CVA but I do have an Omega and love it. I have made consistant shots at 255 yards and the gun shoots great patterns. I think you would be ok with either but I am a TC man all the way
RangerClay
Re: CVA Kodiak vrs Thompson Center Omega X5 Shoulder both guns!!!!! Buy the one that is the most comfortable and fits YOU! I thought about the CVA a couple years ago until I shouldered the gun. It didn't feel right. So I when shopping for something else.

Guest Numnutz
Re: CVA Kodiak vrs Thompson Center Omega X5 I would go with the Omega. Quality control is much better. Not saying the CVA is a bad gun, just saying TC weeds out the problem guns better from the factory.
Guest mikec12
Re: CVA Kodiak vrs Thompson Center Omega X5 i have a friend with a TC Omega and i chose to buy the CVA Optima for the price. both seem to shoot very well. if you are thinking about the TC so you can change barrels CVA now has one that you can change the barrels on in the Optima line. and i believe at a lower price. but without a dout the TCs reputation can not be rivaled. mehunter
Re: CVA Kodiak vrs Thompson Center Omega X5 My own choice would be to go with the TC, and my reason for saying that is service after the sale. I have both an omega and an encore, and the reason I went with them was because of the way TC stands behind there guns. I had a breech plug in an old TC firestorm many years ago that i couldn't move they fixed it free of charge, no questions asked. So after that it's been TC for me, and I have never regreted the choice.
