Strut10
Got to spend some quaility time with one of the original big-bores today. Ran some rounds through an 1895 Winchester .405. I'm lousy with open sights. But I could still keep all them 300 grainers on a deer-sized vital at 100 yards from a rest. If you've never shot finger-sized cartridges from a light gun with a flat steel buttplate............. Still fell in love with this rifle. Someday when I win the lottery........... Strut10
Re: An afternoon with the .405 Actually, there is no black & blue. Amazing, because after the .405 I did some chrono work with the .375 Wby. Then we all grabbed a sandwich and went to the club for a few rounds of trap. That's when I started to feel it. But no black & blue. Great day at the range!! All totaled we fired: 7-30 Waters 7 STW 30-40 Krag 375 Win 375 Wby 405 Win 44-40 Win 20 ga. 12 ga. Ya just gotta love a day like that.
