Guest Finn
Ok, got my gun, supplies etc.... Is there anything I need to do to my Omega before I shoot it? Sorry for the dumb questions, just not sure what steps to take. I'll be shooting with my cousin's husband who has a ml, but he's not a technical guy. Gator
Re: what first? Read BluElks ML chapter at the top of the forums, that should get you started. At the least, I would clean the barrel, breech plug, and nipple with a barrel solvent to get any "gunk" that is built up off of here. Some people use Bore Butter to "season" the barrel while shooting, others don't, that is entirely up to you. I prefer a Clean, dry barrel for my ML, and don't use any oil based lubes on the inside. hunterfisherman
Re: what first? I am with these guys. I bought mine many months before gun season and I did use bore butter and let it sit for 2 months and then I wiped it out before I started shooting. Bluelks is a great place for new people to start and good luck. You have a great gun
