Re: Hunters View

I have 2 of them.

They are good stands. Just like every other high-risk safety product, keep your eye open for recalls on cables and such.

The only thing I didn't like about my hunters view wildcat (which I bought years ago), was there was no fastener near the bottom of the stand to keep it real stable, but, since the centre piece that goes from the seat to the platform is nice and wide, it was remedied easily by drilling a hole down low and screwing a lag bolt through to the tree.

It makes me feel much safer and less chance of the platform kicking out on ya.

Now, I don't advise guys making their own modifications to products like this where your safety is involved, but this one was a no-brainer, since I've built many loc-on tree-stands for myself in the past, and there was plenty of material there for it not to be a safety issue.

It was quite a few years ago that I bought mine also, and I think their design is way different now.

Re: Hunters View

I have a Hunters view ladder stand out in the woods now for over 2 years. This fall will be its 3rd. It is sturdy and a good value for the money. Stay up on it with the rust if you get it...trouble spots, the welds and where the bolts were tightend, it will help control the corrosion if you leave it out all yaer like I do.

We've got 4 or 5 of their ladder stands, and they stay out all year. I use a ratchet strap to tighten the seat to the tree and one to tighten the stabilizer bar to the tree. I only go up two ladder sections (10-12') and they have worked wonderfully, especially for the cost.
