Guest pabowhunt
I planted brassica in mid May. It came up great and in July the deer hammered it really good. They ate about all the top leaves off it. There are still partial green leaves on the plants. As many of you know now is the time to plant for this fall. I'm in NE PA and we've just gotten some much needed rain and there's more in the forcast. So now is a good window of opportunity to plant. What I don't know is will the brassica re-sprout and produce a decent amount of forage or just till it up and start over? Any help will be appriciated! slughunter
Re: Brassica my brassica didnt survive the summer here, the deer and the heat totally killed it off, so I restarted a week and a half ago and it is already growing great, so I would restart if I were you, no point in taking chances, plus season is getting close. -shane
wtnhunt
Re: Brassica Brassicas are an annual, I will only plant them in the fall here. You will probably want to replant them, I would if I were you.
dogdoc
Re: Brassica replant. The regrowth you get won't give you as much forage as if you replant---so get your butt in gear and get tilling good luck todd

Guest pabowhunt
Re: Brassica Thanks for the replies. Looks like Ernest is going to take it easy on us here so I'll be replanting it tonight after work.
Guest pabowhunt
Re: Brassica Food plot is in and Ernesto was good to me! One thing learned, brassica is a pain in the butt when the stalks are still a little green. Constantly getting tangled in the harrow!
