Jeramie
I typically wear cheap'o rubber boots but yesterday I looked at the AB boots at bass pro. I loved they way they were shaped and the inside was comfortable. Im getting a new pair of rubber boots (100% rubber) on the 18th (next paycheck) and was curious what everyone thought of them. Infact im open to suggestions.
GWSmith
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) My favorite pair of Rubber Boots were "Redhead 'Bone-Dry' 1000gram thinsulate" from BP. They lasted 4 years because they were 2 sizes too big...I bought them that way! Wore 2 pairs of socks with them and I could hunt in the swamps of Florida or the snow in West Virginia and my feet Never got cold! Matter of fact I covered up my feet and legs with snow one year and shot a deer that way!!! Remember that blood is the anti-freeze of the body...you cut off the circulation of it to your feet and they will get cold Buy your boots a size or two larger and work up the correct sock thickness for your comfort!!! Strut10
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I also had the 1000 gram Bone Drys from BP Shop. Good boots for the money. Wore them 'til they fell off my feet.......more or less. So i had to get a new pair for this year. Cabela's has (had last week anyway) Browning 1000 gram rubber knee boots on sale for $59.95. I scooped a pair and they are far superior to the Bone Drys. The Brownings are ankle-fit. Only downfall is they are Moldy Oak camo. I just won't look down. Guest Buckneer
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) Cant go wrong ever with the Alpha's. I friend bought the Brownings the same time I bought my Alpha, well, he's buying new boots this year, I dont need to.

wheelin99xj
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I love mine they are very comfortable. I have the uninsulated ones and they are warm still.
LifeNRA
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I tried a pair on, but wound up getting the Cabela's Dura-Trax, much more comfortable. For me anyways!
rhine16
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) i had the alpha's but after first hunt i had 2 holes in them... not sure what happened but rubber boots with holes in em totally defeats the purpose of having rubber boots.... last year i wore the bone drys... tough boots only problem is that they are loud walking in the woods
Straight Shooter
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) You can't go wrong with the Lacrosse boots, I've got three pairs of of them in the Aplha Burly Sport one pair in the uninsulated, one in 1,00 gram and the other in 1,500 gram. I'll not wear anything else to hunt with. These boots are very comfortable and scent free. I'll be getting another pair of the uninsulated just for the reason of, I wear these more since the season is warmer longer and I don't want to wear them out. Bowhntr
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) The LaCrosse boot is, in my opinion, the finest rubber boot on the market. I've got two pair of the Alpha Burly and one pair of the Buckmasters. I've had the Buckmasters for almost 15 years and they haven't let me down yet. Go Lacrosse. They have to be the finest rubber boot out there especially for walking in.
ThethirdI
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) My Alpha Burly boots were the best hunting money that I ever spent. Enough said on that one!
VTbowman
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I just purchased a new pair of LaCrosse Alphas 1000g thinsulate this weekend. I wear a size 9 sneaker but had to get a size 11 boot to have room enough for multiple layers of socks. I too normally buy a size or size and 1/2 bigger but these had to be 2 sizes bigger. I really like the textured outer surface and they are super light weight. I was amazed how light when I put them on. I have yet to hunt with them but I expect them to be everything a LaCrosse boot has been for me in the past and more... A real step up from my Rangers 600g thinsulate boots I have been wearing the last few years... JMO
RangerClay
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I bought a pair of the uninsulated AB's last year for doing drives. They have a great non slip tread and are very comfortable. They seem to run a little small so keep that in mind if you are ordering on line. Bownarow
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) The alpha burlys are by far the best pair of knee boots I have ever owned. Comfortable and durable.
unioncountyslayer
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) RedHead Bone Dry is what I have. I have the uninsulated pair since it rarely gets too cold around here and I switch over to my Danners when it does. But they are great rubber boots. I've had them for 3 years now and will probably last me another 13! Great boots for the money.
slugshooter
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I've got uninsulated AB's and I love them. Especially where I hunt , a lot of marshes and creeks to go across. It's a lot easier to just walk through the creek now instead of trying to find a way across. I need to get an insulated pair this year though.
revhard
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) thid year running that i will be wearing m ab's/ camo hasnt even worn off. i got the 800's and they kept me warm all year with no problem. i like the strap on the back that tightens up. they are by far the best boot period that i have ever wore. if they gave up on me tommarrow, i will buy another pair
starbux
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I love my 1000g A-B's and just ordered a pair of non-insulated ones for early season. They are on sale for $60 I think in the Bargain Cave on Cabela's website. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) I got some Rocky Buckstalkers in 1000 g thinsulate and they are great. They have zippered sides and go on fast! My feet feel great in them!

Jeramie
Re: Alpha Burly? (Rubber boots in general?) Thanks gang. I picked up a pair of the un-insulated Alpha's Tuesday on the way home. I really dont need the insulation around here. All you need is a good pair of wool socks. Regardless, they fit like a dream and are much better than the old loose boots I had been slipping into! Ive got them behind the cab of my truck airing...
