Guest Andrea
My mother-in-law wants to cook on her woodstove out in the cook house this winter. She wants to bake biscuits and other stuff. Got any recipes? Tips or suggestions???
clayman
Re: Anyone cook with a wood stove? We've got one at our duck camp, but no special recipes. Typically we just use it for heating water and sometimes for heating up a premade dish that someone brought. We have used the oven to slow roast a ham. It's also our bread toaster. We take one of the plates off the top of the fire box and put a light wire grate over it and then slap a piece of bread on it to make toast. Otherwise we've got a propane stove for all of our cooking. You really have to pay attention to it so that you maintain even cooking temperatures.
