stevebeilgard Posted September 2, 2006 Report Share Posted September 2, 2006 yowzirr. had a bad turn of events. dakota is coming out on an elk hunt in 2 weeks. i have a great ranch lined up, with lots of big elk. but wait. i HAD a great place lined up. i called the ranch manger last friday, a week ago today, and asked how the elk are. he said "great, if you know where they are". seems all 59,000 acres of his place burned, as well as the neighbors place. ouch. anyway, his neighbor rancher flew the area, and saw all the elk on another neighbor, the pickerells. the pickerell ranch is, i think, 7 figures in acres. (for those of you in the no child left behind program, that's over a million acres) as luck would have it, i'm building a home for a very good friend of the pickerlls, and he put in a call for me. accordin to matt, the pickerells son, he says no problem. he doesn't know anything about the missing hundreds of elk, but he has a few of his own and we're welcome to one or 2. well, this all sounds fine, but i've always been a guy who's done his homework. i'll tell you right now that i've never set foot on the pickerell ranch, don't know what's going to happen, and we need a bit of help from the almighty. i know i can do my part, but i sure do need some guidance. any help will be greatly appreciated. i've never taken one of gods fine animals without asking, and thanking when it's done. i just need a little more help this time. thanks. You go it buddy ... it will all work out on this one ... look at everything else he has done with Dakota and everything surrounding him ... we all have faith in you and know that whatever happens you did you absolute best ... and I know Dakota will feal the exact same way ...
