Bucks are Lucky!!!!

Headed out at first light sneaking around the north end of my big meadow-a nice high dark horned buck trotted across the cutline at 30 yards. He was screened by willows so I circled to get a sightline-the lucky son of a buck trotted 450 yards straight away from me right at some dark timber-then he stopped broadside-the wind was wrong to track him or i'd of dogged him all a'm. Guess the deer won this round lol.

Re: Bucks are Lucky!!!!

Bucks are lucky. I had a big blacktail circle me the morning of the same day I shot my last deer this year. He was lucky too. He was a really nice buck, and even came in to 15 yrds at one point, but there was so much junk in the way, there is no way I was goig to attempt a bow shot through it. I has scent sprayed all over the trail, both ways, but he had his nose on something better I guess and slowly slipped through all the thick stuff, broadside to me and he was gone. Never knew I was there and would not respond to my calls. He had his nose to the ground the whole time.

Some bucks are very lucky grin.gif
