RangerClay
I was all set to buy the generic pop-up blind at Dick's Sporting Goods till I got my Fall Hunting Classic flier from BPS. They are going to have the Ameristep Doghouse TSC blind on sale for $59.88. I will pick one up when I go to see Charlie Alsheimer in two weeks What is the difference between the Doghouse and a TSC Doghouse?
unioncountyslayer
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 Hey Ranger, this is from Ameristep's website, this should sum up your question... Our Doghouse TSC™ is 30% larger than the original Doghouse™. Total Scent Containment, large enough to accommodate a bow hunter at full draw. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 The doghouse is a great blind for the archer and if you want to take your kids around, roomy and easy to set up. Get the TSC model Ranger, you will be happy with it! Ameristep makes some great blinds at affordable prices!!

GWSmith
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 I know the price looks good on those...BUT... Something worth considering... The local sporting goods store in ROME NY., Herb Phillipsons, has a "Hub Style Blind" for $78. List price on the manufacturers website is: $119.99 GB-1000 Escape Both my friend Dave and I own one and were very pleased with them!!! VTbowman
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 Ive got the delux Ground Max and they are every bit as good, in size anyways, as a large Double Bull blind IMHO. I love mine. As far as the camo, I normally brush any blind I use so I was not concerned about the little know camo pattern.

The Ameristep is larger and cheaper than the one at Herb's. Plus I have 3 windows. Yours looks like it only has 1.

Washi
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 I have a Doghouse TSC and it works pretty good for bowhunting because it is bigger than the regular Doghouse. I just got an Intimidator from Ameristep and think I'm going to like it even better. Even though the Doghouse TSC is 68" square at the bottom and the Intimidator is 60" square at the bottom the Intimidator has more room for shooting. It is because the Intimidator has hubs and they push the sides of the blind out and the Doghouse TSC actually tapers in towards the top. So by the the time you get up to where you are actually drawing your bow the hub style blind has more room. Both are pretty good blinds though. billkay
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 I had a "Hub" style blind and hated it. Only thing more difficult than setting it up was trying to take it down. Had troubles with the hubs breaking as well. I think dartonman lost a pint of blood or two as well with the identical blind. The company was always willing to send replacement parts but it got old in a big hurry. I have one of the pop-up types with the spring steel in it and it is awesome. It is large enough to bow hunt from as well.
Washi
Re: Pop-Up Blind P.2 My hub blind isn't that hard for me to set up. Getting the first hub to pop out is the hardest and then it gets easier, taking it down is easy. I guess some blinds must be harder than others.
