RyanH Posted December 3, 2004 Report Share Posted December 3, 2004 Ok IM PISSED!!!! Im going to Wal-Mart right after I post this! Im buying a Game Cam! I work on a huge Job site!!! I Had some 4/0 bare WIRE sitting outside my construction lay down yard!! I could not move it due to its weight so it had to sit outside!! It was a special order item! So over the last two days I noticed the reel looked different but didnt pay any attention to it! Well today i Inspected it! YUP you guessed it! Half of it was gone! Copper gets some good coin depending on where you take it. We have a company here that gives a good dollar, so we have a big problem around the city. Individuals of a lower IQ are crawling over the barbed wire barricades around the stations, and removing all the 3/0 bare from breakers, transformers, towers, lighting arresters, cap banks, etc. The wire is there for the saftey of the individual in the yard. This wires are hooked to the ground system burried under the system and ensures equal potential on all the equipment. Removing grounds cause potential difference, which causes dangerous floating volts and if someone completes that path (worker or theif) they could be seriously injured! Its amazing what guys will do for money. Theives can be very stupid. One got his last year and perished in the act.... We are in a small industrial park. We use the back alley for storage (as do the other businesses). Not more then a couple of months ago people were getting prime money for junk steel. About the time that price went up out went much inventory.... Especially from our neighbor who was doing re-roofing. He had special trims, corners, etc that mysteriously came up missing overnight. [/ QUOTE ] Now we are on teh right track, have a com watching teh cam, then another watching that one and so one...make the trail of cameras lead to your front door so they need to keep taking one to steal teh evidence, but in the process get caught on another.
