Re: What do you make of this?

Here's what I make of it. When the FBI raided Democrat Congressman William Jefferson's office last May, there was an outcry by many on the Left (and some on the Right) about a violation of the Separation of Powers. But in this case, presumably because the raids were conducted on a Republican's office, I hear.....SILENCE!

BTW - Congressman Jefferson had $90,000 in cash in his freezer at home????

There is a difference in this case though TTID. The raid on Jeffersons office was a US Congressmans office in Washington, D.C. This was a raid of a state legislators office in Alaska. You know the boys in Washington couldn't care less what the FBI does regarding state issues.

And the outcry over the Jefferson case was surprisingly bi-partisan. Even Dennis Hastert chimed in against it. Because they know that if the FBI will raid one office, they will raid theirs. And I would lay money down that there isn't a Representative or Senator that doesn't have something they'd like to keep hidden.

Good point. I wouldn't make a distinction between the two, but those ivory tower politicians in DC probably would.

no distinctions should be made between you, me, or anyone in public office. if they have enough evidence to go to a judge and get a search warrant, serve the warrant and let the outcome come. i'm glad they did what they did. and, if they made a mistake, an apology is in order. if they are correct, maybe praise and an arrest is in order. in any case, lets let this play out and see what happens.
