Guest Andrea
Thought this was VERY VERY interesting. Says this discovery could boost the U.S. gas and oil reserves by 50 %!!!!! Wonder how low the price of gas would go down?????? Oil tap in Gulf

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: OIL found in Gulf Now lets sit back and watch the environmentalists (socialists) howl about why we can't drill there without totally ruining the Gulf of Mexico's ecosystem. hutchies
Re: OIL found in Gulf Gas Prices down.................LOL, Yeah right. Maybe more profit for them.
Guest Andrea
Re: OIL found in Gulf We are already drilling in the Gulf. This just happens to be a doozy of an oil tap. It's producing an enormous amount of oil. You'd think with the war and the price of gas as it is anyway,....these tree huggers would keep quiet. But I am sure they will raise cain about it. OJR
Re: OIL found in Gulf Now they are going to file suits so that no more refineries can be built like they have been doing for the last 25 years!!!
Newarcher
Re: OIL found in Gulf Yeah, but for all you complaining about the so-called environmentalists (they are predominantly anti-capitalists, the same that go protest against the world bank)....how many of you have written your US Senators and Representatives and demanded that we start drilling oil and that the refinery owners be a protected class against these lawsuits. It could be done in one single swoop of congress. I have. New
Ruff
Re: OIL found in Gulf You can find all the oil you want. But untill they build more refineries it wont do any good as they are maxed out now and have tankers off shore waiting to unload.
Newarcher
Re: OIL found in Gulf Point taken, Ruff Again, how many have written to say that they want new American Refineries created or to eliminate the rediculous 18 blends that have to be made for various states (thereby reducing the production time because they have to shut down to change blends)? How many have written to say they want refineries exempted from junk lawsuits? I have. I suggest you guys do as well. This is a pocketbook issue and with Iran coming on board with nukes, will be a national security issue as well. New

[/ QUOTE ] This sums it all up right here ... there is no oil shortage ... but a refinery shortage ... get rid of the stupid EPA and we are set ... Hoyt03
Re: OIL found in Gulf Yeah really, if we are paying what they charge for gas why in the world would they drop their prices and not make as much profit for our benefit. I think gas prices are here to stay regardless of how much we find here and there. If Hoyts sells bows for X price and people are buying them up like crazy and they start producing more and people are still paying the X price why would the compnay drop their prices and not make as much, they wouldnt. rifleman25
Re: OIL found in Gulf Whne the people of Florida found out anout that righ off the coast down there they went nuts a while back. That is odd too for a republican state. I have worked from Port Oconnor Texas to Theodore Alabama and find it odd that Florida is the only gulf state that had a problem with drilling. My company man heard of this same story but still doesn't know where this is out there. I'd bet though that Diamond offshore, Todco, and Transocean are alrwady on it. If it is a deep water well it will take quite a while to bring it in and then the coil tubing crew has to run there stuff to get the oil to a pump station where it can be loaded on tankers or piped to a refinery.
